Can someone explain me why nationalism and patriotism always comes at the expense of the countries economic growth? Slavic countries are nationalistic and hates migrants but in turn have tons of corruption which lowers the standard of life.

because most of slavic countries used to be comunists until 1989 and after that there are still some remnant left (or their offsprings) and if they own the Slovak industry (or the little of it that we have) they have influence over the majority of the population. Thank god Fico baned rapefuges in 2015/16 though (the one and only thing he did right)
