before ENTRANCE to college in the 19th century you had to read and write ancient latin and greek.
The entire population of Florence, Italy during the rennisance was 15,000. In american we produce 15,000 masters of fine arts every year.
Periclean Athens had a population of 40,000, only a third of which were citizens. Green bay, WI has a population of 100,000. Compare their achievements.
The real black pill my friends, is humanity is getting dumber every year. Try to read letters from the civil war written by tanners and blacksmiths, and you will be shocked at the vocabulary, grammar, and rich allusions to stories biblical and ancient. Nigs are dumb today, but the darker reality is whites are only a pale shadow of what they used to be.
Take atheism, for example. In the 19th century its purveyors were Marx, Shaw, Darwin, Nietzche, dangerous men with dangerous ideas. Now its just a bunch of fedoras and a few jew grifters earning bank off of them.
Obama went to school for a solid 20 years to come up with such chestnuts as "Thats not who we are" and "the right side of history".
Abraham Lincoln had one year of formal schooling.

Whenever I read anything written by people with ivy educations, what always strikes me is how LITTLE they have read. Much less than being conversant in greek and latin, none of them have read any of the classics or the bible and yet seems confindent to talk about it even though its plain they don't even have a wikipedia level familiarity with the topic.

It was interesting at first, but that line ruined any serious discussion.

Hell take the decline of revolution. From the Jacquerie to Munster to Jacobins to Communism to modern Buttplug Liberalism; in each iteration the values sought by the revolutionaries become more mundane, the tools less spectactular (from the mass cannibalism, to mob disememberment of the aristocracy, to police basements... to what, some fag professor with a bike lock?)... every iteration is just exhausting the point further and further.

Higher education was once grounded in the classics. It was the reason why the West conquered the world.
This asshole has a degree from the university of chicago. Its tuition is 71k. He has a column in the premier newspaper in the country. And he doesn't even fucking know Exodus has to do with the EXILE and they never get to the promised land in it. JOSHUA is the actual settlement of the promised land, and it mostly involves the exterimination of the natives. Much like in america.
Its like a double ignorance, he doesn't know a goddamn thing about the bible or athens or american history, and here is he babbling his ideas to be declared normative for my fellow citizens. What really, really bothers me about our ruling class is they keep talking to each other about things none of them have actually bothered to read, or think about in a steady and quiet way for extended periods of time.

The math part didn't change, we had the same shit during the entry course before university began, except it wasn't required to pass an exam.
Why the hell would I need Latin or geography if I wanted to study CS? Subjects back then had so little depth, people probably had enough time to acquire more common knowledge. Now every single worthwhile subject has as much material as all of them added together in 1899.

Western education is a joke. All you have to do is repeat your teacher/professor's political opinions and you get an A. They don't test for knowledge. They test for compliance. The West has fallen.

Excessive sexual activity really is what was the final nail in the coffin. People and their subconscious have permanently been polluted by the sexual revolution and regular pornography usage. We are what repeatedly do, the only things we are now are advanced breeding animals and nothing else. Copulation and self-stimulation are the only thing many people live for, no matter whatever they tell themselves. They believe they genuinely want to do this, I mean it it's pleasurable, like all addictive behaviors, the addict will deny that they have a problem and are doing it on their own volition. My friends, nothing further could be from the truth! You are engaging in a conditioned behavior, a very powerful one at that, that was previously confined to one partner for a limited stretch of time, mostly for the purpose of procreation. This deep seated function is actually our core being, and if exploited and abused as it has been, you will be slave to these base thoughts and instincts. You don't control them, they control you!
Masturbation was demonized (see onanism) as was fornication and promiscuity. While people obviously engaged in these things at times, the sheer guilt, the lack of stimuli, and percieved ill health effects of 'self-abuse' and 'onanism', meant the frequency of these activities for most people was a very slim occurrence and certainly wasn't affecting our subconscious very much. Most people had one partner and initially sexual activity was very high but it declined of course owing to the Coolidge Effect. Back then, they aspired and planned for long-term goals and learned. They did not have a conditioned sexual release associated with feelings like frustration.
Take it from me, if you want to be like the greats of the past, you need to live like them and to do this, you need to abandon the sexual excesses our minds are currently rotting in.
Jack Young

>"The greatest intellectual geniuses in both ancient and modern times led continent lives, and there is yet to be recorded one individual who freely expended seminal fluid who ever amounted to anything. In most cases, individuals who have achieved have been forced by necessity to abstain from sexual indulgence, as Cervantes, who wrote Don Quixote while in prison, or Dante who wrote his Divine Comedy while in exile. Milton wrote "Paradise Lost" when blind and when he did not indulge in sex. Sir Isaac Newton, active in intellect until the age of 80, led a continent life from birth, and so did Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo, both of whom retained their creative genius [until] an advanced age.
Michael Hernandez
>We tell you that at every emission of semen you are losing the food and the best portion of the (blood) corpuscles, inasmuch as every particle of semen which is ejected will be replaced by more taken from the blood. This is enough to convince you that when you are ejecting the semen which should stay in the body and become reabsorbed so as to go and form the oil for the joints, new muscles, the brain material, as well as every other part of the body, you are really destroying or throwing away your life.
>"`You eject the substance of the synovial fluid. You send forth, to gratify a moment's passion, the very material of which the brain is made. This is a fact which you will acknowledge when you consider that all this semen is the material of which all these substances are made and supplied, and when the semen is ejected you have selected the best part of the body to go out and become to you a useless inert mass, which can never be restored to you under any circumstances. It is lost and gone. Then, the semen being out of the body, the sexual penalty comes apace. The penalty for this loss of semen is so far reaching and so concealed from the body of people of the present day that we do not know the exact spot to look for it. But we tell you, when you see paralysis, palsy, apoplexy, rheumatism, brain softening, bent shoulders and haggard face; when you observe a young old man and the dried up young lady, in all of these cases, and in dozens of others, you may set it down that there have been sexual losses and a waste of the bodily substance from the sexual orgasm.
Jaxon Perez
>"`You will see this penalty all around you, and there is no place where you may go but you will see the fruits of this sexual indulgence to excess. The penalty may be denied, and all these diseases may be attributed to every other cause under the sun, but you will be right in laying it at the proper place, and that is to the sexual drain which has sapped the blood corpuscles of the victim before you. We assure you nothing can be so very enervating as this sexual excess, and any sexual mating is an excess, providing it is not for the purpose of having children.

The problem isn't that people are becoming dumber, quite the opposite. People are the most educated tvey ever have been in history.
The problem is in *what* people are becoming educated in. Hundreds of years ago, the only mass printed media would have been the classics and the Bible. Now, we have such an infinite amount if media to choose from, that people can actually pick and choose what they enjoy to consume and study.
Ask your average teen about their favorite band, a housewife about their favorite show, or a man about their favorite sports team, they will give you a near encyclopedic account of their history both past and modern.
People are spending 10,000 hours, the amount of time it generally takes to "master" something, on texting and videogames, where as ancient peoples spent that time doing things that to us now seem reserved for only the most educated, like re-reading the Bible and ancient classics.
In reality the "classics" have become obsolete as entertainment, and modern media is almost solely based on entertainment, so it's no wonder that people choose one over the other.

Ignoring the problems that tend to be unsolvable, like the complexity of technology and the efficiency-driven mindset of consumer-capitalist-democracy which communications technology enables making "circles" more responsible for new discoveries than individuals, and those circles less wide and free-flowing, the single biggest problem in terms of culture is the technocratic view the modern society has of the state and its citizens.
>Our common parlance has become compressed with the conception of education as some sort of manufacturing process. Our children are the ‘raw material’; we desiderate for their education ‘modern methods' which must be ‘efficient' but ‘cheap’ [...] >In our adoption of the standpoint here indicated there is involved a primary blunder as to the nature and functions of education. For education has not to do with the manufacture of things, but with fostering the growth of things. And the conditions we should strive to bring about in our education system are not the conditions favourable to the rapid and cheap manufacture of ready-mades, but the conditions available to the growth of living organisms - the liberty and the light and the gladness of a ploughed field under the spring sunshine. You aren't taught more than you need so that your teachers can pass you, and neither are they. Even those born into the "elite" don't receive any training to do anything other than remain so. They like society abandoned the Greco-Roman-Christian valuing of philosophy, and are just another decadent, superstitious, idolatrous class whose duty consists in schmoozing (aka "activism") rather than an individual-oriented "aristocratism".
