What is the best way to regulate kids' internet usage?

What do you do when your child starts browsing porn?

I Started watching porn since age 12. My dad tried to ban it but it just made me more computer-savvy and more intent on breaking the rules, like any inquiring mind would.

So how to instill this moral value as opposed to making them more rebellious?

Give them the succ so they have a better alternative. Alternately just give up your internet.

...

SSL decryption and deep packet inspection, with no physical access to the computer.

Remove the door and turn off the internet when you are asleep.out of the house

What about when they want a mobile phone? Nokia 3310 I got so desperate once on a family holiday at age 13 I called a sexline in the back of a videogame magazine and almost lost 10£.

I don't think being totalitarian is the solution either.

>My dad tried to ban it but it just made me more computer-savvy and more intent on breaking the rules, like any inquiring mind would.

You should still ban it, because you clearly turned out fine. By making the porn hard to access, you ensure they won't get so used to regular porn that they turn to really degenerate porn for kicks. Furthermore, because it will take an inquiring mind to access porn your child will start associating inquiry with pleasure which leads to enjoyment of critical thinking. The thing about the red pill is that it's the truth. Anyone who is a true skeptic will arrive at the red pill themselves.

Why do you think the term "controlled opposition" exists? It's so those in control and direct the rebelliousness to work in their favor.

Don't let them have data. Only restrict it to wifi. And how would they use a sexline without some sort of credit card?

Well it was just wasting my phone top-up

I know plenty of people who had very strict parents in high-school who just let loose in college and went crazy degenerate. It's not the ideal solution.

Lol that doesn't matter as long as the kid doesn't actually hear anything. You aren't worried about money are you? You worried about degeneracy

I'm not saying don't let them have sex or girlfriends or anything like that, he was just asking about porn specifically.

>Why do you think the term "controlled opposition" exists? It's so those in control and direct the rebelliousness to work in their favor.

This is a parenting tip I need to remember for the future, holy shit, thanks user.

You can't stop a kid from being horny, anything you try isn't going to work.

Instead of trying to keep porn away from him you should work on instilling the other values that you don't want porn to ruin.

Yeah.
Maybe try being strict about the internet, but poorly hiding normal porn? At least then he'll be into normal shit instead of anything weird.

I'm not going to give my daughter her own personal device until she is 17 years old. I grew up watching porn at 10 years old because I had my own computer and I also neglected my studies because of it. I was always an emotional mess because my online boyfriends didnt "love me enough". I don't care if she will feel like an outcast without her own smart device or laptop, because look at where I ended up having my own at such a young age.

>because look at where I ended up
Sup Forums? thats pretty good right? lol

This
literally 2 options
1: let your kid experience normal human life, and jack it
2: Make your kid frustrated and sad at what he perceives to be something that is wrong with himself, thus fueling strange habits and self hate

Make them star in the porn they watch, like my family did

This made me lol

Is it possible to add filters to porn sites?
>filtering out BLACKED.com, furries, everything except POV and softcore.

explain the imporatnce of deferred gratification and the dangers of porn addiction.

Ultimately it's like smoking - you give your kids a stable home life and the information they need to make good decisions, and if they don't you love them anyway.

Sup Forums is very bad for mental health. I would never want my daughter to end up here. I wouldn't want a future son to either.

Set a timer or a clock mode so they don't spend all day on the computer, make sure your child does a physical activity growing up like sports or martial arts.

>What do you do when your child starts browsing porn?
Let them and if they see something they don't understand or feel uncomfortable with talk with them about it, also make sure your/their computer has no camera or the camera is locked/disabled down.

>So how to instill this moral value as opposed to making them more rebellious?
Let them have their own computer, but disable permanently anything you don't want them to access, like gore websites AND GET RID OF THE CAMERA, I can't stress getting rid of the camera enough. Your child doesn't need to be uploading pictures/videos of themselves to the internet.

Just tell them masturbating and porn is for fags.

about the camera thing, isn't there a really creepy youtube search like "new webcam video upload" or something and its just kids uploading themselves? nightmare

>regulating behavior

what is the drug war for 500

All I'll say is this, if you want to best protect your child online from "bullies" and other people with bad intentions then disable the camera

Get your child a cheap laptop that doesn't really do anything besides play videos, lets them listen to music, browse the internet, type their homework, and play flash games.

Laptops like those go for 150-200$, a nice beginner computer that your child can call his/her own.
