The communist regime in east Germany actually still had strong family values and also better education in terms of "pro-family" stuff, while western education mostly focused (and still does) to push in mostly useless shit into the heads of the people. They had more "social stuff" in the east.
Since the destruction of the family values started around the 1960s for the west, this did start in the 1990s for the east. This means there is an entire generation between western and eastern Germany where the people in the west were already nurtured by liberal ideas partnered with low investment parenting, creating these uber cucks we call "males" today. Estern Germany (and eastern Europe) is basically one entire Generation away from that (maybe a bit longer even). The current crisis however helps in slowing down that process, meaning especially the eastern parts will be redpilled for a longer period of time.

The Soviets were actually less destructive of German culture in East Germany than Americans were in West Germany. Soviets just preserved existing German institutions and pretty seamlessly integrated them into the Soviet system. East Germans were never really taught to hate themselves. Western denazification on the other hand instituted a campaign of cultural decimation and psychological brutality on an unprecedented level.
