Japan's actually very happy with their right-leaning government and has been for years now. Being right-wing isn't synonymous with being conservative, or being some proud arbiter of traditional culture though. For as redpilled as their government's almost always been, Japanese art's historically been decadent and escapism's always been a problem for them. Most Japs are apolitical too and don't hold any strong right or left beliefs but are fine with their government.

My experience is that most people don't talk a lot about it normally but if he subject is brought up they have at least seen a couple of shows. Also, an anime movie is the fourth highest-grossing film of all time in Japan right now and current anime openings/endings are regularly played in stores and restaurants.
