Why did the USSR collapse

What made the Soviet Union collapse even though till this day the majority of Russians support communism?

The Soviets, and most communists around that time, were actually against most of the degeneracy people like to reference. Cultural Marxism too, funnily enough.

Hello, I'm Brian btw.

Hey Brian
Welcome to Sup Forums

Communism.
That's why.

Shit economy + party leaders old as fuck. Gorbachev was young (postWW2) compared to a lot of the party leaders who did not want to change.

Miracle that the transition was relatively peaceful compared to the previous civil war in Russia

Wiping your ass with pieces of drywall and tree bark made them snap.

Centralized economic control is horrifically inefficient, especially when the central government is ridiculously paranoid about being invaded militarily and devotes an absurd percentage of economic output to building weapons.

Those cucks are Americans and Brits. USSR won.

Stalin died and the USSR became too liberal

Weird how their philosophies never turn out how they planned

The system was too corrupt and ineffective to rule in peacetime. Gorbachev could have kept it from collapsing if he sent tanks into East Europe like Brezhnev did, but he was naive enough to think that the USSR could hold without brute force.

Also, I'm not Russian but I have lots of family/friends from the former USSR, and they fucking hate communism. Even the Russians.

"centralized economic control is horrifically inefficient"
>had 2nd fastest growing economy of the 20th century
>had zero unemployment
>had zero homeless

The US has more homes than homeless, wouldn't you consider that inefficient?

>Everyone was pretty much poor as fuck
>Hundred million died
>By the end of the USSR, Soviet tech was pretty much a joke compared to non-soviet tech

Having war against the biggest economies is always going to be a problem.

wow I'm so glad i have a job to buy things with oh wait there's nothing to buy. oh well i guess i can just eat money

100 million I think it was more like 5183526568269 septillion

Communism = 0 incentive to create or produce
4 hours of hard work = food and appartment
40 hours of hard work = food and appartment

Result everyone do 4 hours of hard work a week. The food produced is scarce and shitty.
The appartments built are tinny and shitty.
People in the top live like kings, the rest live like dogs. Collapse economy or revolution.

the answer is diversity

balt niggers and tajiks

Hey Brian!

>till this day the majority of Russians support communism?
A big fucking meme. Nobody wants communism back, but there is some point in this. Because even when there was commie gov life were more or less better. And that's fucking horrific.

>majority of Russians support communism
that's mostly a meme. we live in deep nostalgia about (((good ole times))), but most people couldn't even explain why communism, except muh gibs.

Corrupt oligarquic government with no rules and no general decency is worse than communism

>Corrupt oligarquic government with no rules
And that's where mystery of this phenomenon. Because
>Corrupt oligarquic government with no rules
>and communism
Is the same thing.

The fact that planned economies do not work when scaled up beyond a single family unit, due to the economic variation of the cube square law (as community population increases linearly, administrative burden increases quadratically, until the government requires more workers to manage the economy than the entire community population, generally at a population of 150 or more).

Are you the one trying to become a refugee in Europe to kill all the other refugees?

>Brezhnev was too liberal
Oh, okay.

He was but more importantly he was mentally ill for most of his reign.

How's it going Brian?

It's Communism, stupid.

>he was mentally ill for most of his reign
And even so, that was probably the best time to live in USSR, ah
That's just.....

What if communism was implemented but only for say 15 years, to build up housing, infrastructure industry and so on and then revert to back to a democratic system. That way a nation can reap the benefits of both systems

The system was self defeating, hauling millions of people away for being "saboteurs" or "anti-revolutionary" and shit

the houses and infrastructure would be shit and would have to be overhauled completely at the end of the 15 years

also the economy would be in a general shambles

In New Zealand in Auckland the largest city, there is a huge shortage of housing, property prices have gone up immensely with small trashy 3bdrm houses costing upwards of 1 million dollars, and I'm sorry to say this but I don't think the invisible hand of the free market is going to change that. A strong state that can help build up the necessary facilities to allow people to work efficiently, can be utilized greatly in the future to increase economic output in a democratic system

Every Russian I talk to hates communism and talks about how bad it was before. They also bitch about how when communism ended a small group of people got all the industry.

i can stay content knowing that no matter how beta i am, i can always just book a flight to venezuela and get myself an underage qt

Turns out communism doesnt work...but i guess people will want to keep trying the same thing over and over again hoping for different results.

>Russians support communism
First of all russians are retarded.
Secondly many russians just want their empire back, it doesn't matter under what system - it may as well be National Socialism.

KEK
My grandma always keeps a lot of toilet paper in reserve. Habit from soviet days.

Communism, then a second arms race happened. Taxes were fucking sky rocket high and it collapsed
