I was born in 1991, and I've been recently digitizing my family's old family VHS tapes. I grew up in a Midwest Catholic middle-class family, and there's tons of footage of us finding Easter eggs on Easter Morning, decorating the tree for Christmas, and so forth. Looking at all of it from an outside perspective, it made me realize just how important all that shit is to my culture as a conservative, moderately-religious white American.
