There is much truth to what you say. But also I'd rather have the McMansion in the burbs than a shoebox condo in some shithole city. Better yet, I'd rather live in a small town at least 200 miles from the nearest large city.
We sort of did in the early-mid 20th century, beginning with the New Deal and ending with the Great Society. There was a moderately successful socialist movement in the Midwest and you had a lot of crypto-socialists like Huey Long as well. So yes, I think a form of it, probably not Sweden level but maybe similar to Germany or Britain, would be possible if there were less diversity.

Except quite a few East Asian nations have adopted democracy. Japan has had democracy ever since American occupation ended. Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong also have very stable democracies, which is impressive considering that most White countries were living under despotism until the Iron Curtain collapsed.

Last collapse was in the 1850's-1860's and it resulted in half the country leaving, a massive civil war, and then a subsequent massive restructure of the Federal Government which completely changed how the United States worked.
I wonder what awaits America in the 2050's and 2060's? Ethnic conflict over the changing population and culture of major parts of the US, demographic crisis in the population age pyramid, mountains of public and private debt, failing public welfare, healthcare and education services which will only get worse because of aforementioned demographic problems, waning international relevance and economic power, the list goes on. All of these things are happening right now. Maybe the US as we know it might not even make it to 2060 before it shits the bed.

Should be noted that it is true that waves of European immigration did all face resistance and racism from the the existing Europeans in the US. The English-Scottish population hated the Germans and Irish, and then they got over the Germans. Then the Anglos and Germans hated the Irish together, then they got over it. Then the North Europeans hated the Eastern and Southern Europeans, then they got over it.
But what is happening now in the US is fundamentally different to what happened then
All those groups were European and Christian. They all had some historical connection to each other, and even though there was hatred for a time, when everyone assimilated the tensions disappeared and the idea of "white" as including all Europeans generally came to be accepted as the norm.
The Hispanization of America won't go down as cleanly or as calmly as It did in the past.
1. Hispanic Americans are coming is far, FAR greater numbers than Europeans came in any of their waves, they're coming more consistently and they're coming more illegally.
2. All other groups of immigrants were either more dispersed geographically and/or they had to build their communities from the ground up (by displacing Indians) whereas Hispanics are by and large located mostly in the South West and are not starting from scratch, merely moving in to the cities built by non-Hispanics.
3. No other group can claim that part of the US used to be owned by Hispanics
4. Multiculturalism and the move away from forced assimilation means that Hispanic Americans are not abandoning their homeland culture, language and identity in favour of American culture and English anywhere near the same rate that Europeans did when they moved to America.
5. Hispanics lag heavily compared to other immigrant groups in the past in uptake of Citizenship, and their incomes and education levels pale in comparison to other immigrant groups.

Guess what, in historically multi-ethnic European countries, there tend to be discrepancies between different groups in all sorts of categories, including crime rates, median household income, educational achievement, etc.
You see this in Belgium between the Flemish and Walloons. You see this in Italy between Northern and Southern Italians. You see this in Spain between the Catalans, Basque, Castilians, Galicians, and Andalusians. And guess what? You see this in the United States between Italian-Americans, Irish-Americans, German-Americans, etc.
Which brings me back to my next point. There is no historical precedent for White nationalism. There are tons of examples of ETHNIC nationalism. Japan for the Japanese makes sense. France for the French makes sense. Portugal for the Portuguese makes sense. But white nationalism has no historical basis.
