Minimum Wage

Lets raise minimum wage to 15$ because we feel that low income workers will benefit from this.

Or lets bring back the role of traditional housewives.

I might lose my job from this

I voted against it. People don't think about long-term economic consequences, they just see the immediate benefit of raising wages. They also don't seem to get that this disrupts the value of the labor pool.

>Engineer with years of training and exp, make $30/hr
>Ex-con, stock shelves for $25/hr.

I'm wondering when people will just say fuck it.

>shills for trillionairs
how many sheckles op?

I feel that anybody who complains about their wage should be executed.
Its legit tho, bc thats how i FEEL

This is about the rate of inflation.

Never worked before, may as well do it again

>make tuition free for combined income of 60k or less
>Raise minimum wage to negate this

Orville is a genius!

Inflation erodes wages though. So keeping it static for even 1 year means minimum wage is actually lowering because of the lost purchasing power.

minimum wage being so low is why immigrants are needed to do shit tier jobs. Because people on gibs me dats don't have ANY incentive to work full time.

Take any single parent for example. They can work 1-2 days a week and earn the same as a full time worker at 40hr week.

So you end up with a nation of meets and immigrants. Not raising the minimum wage is a direct part of this...I don't give a fuck if a labourers on 40 dollars per hour vs an accountant on 35 an hour....that's just market demand!

Let's not. Fuck off. "Socialism" isn't sustainable without pure nationalism to stop illegal immigration and cheap labor competition flooding the country.

Better yet, why not $100? or $1,000? or $1,000,000? Then nobody would be poor!

Make it a $1 billion each. Can't get very far on a million nowadays.

Thats wrong tho nigger, if inflation effectively lowers the minimum wage then employers will have to raise it on their own to make iy feasible for people to earn a living.

Where I live has a strange economy, lots of people make good money but the cost pf living raised with everyone's wages.

The "minimum wage" here is effectively 4 to 5 dollars higher than an equivalent position elsewhere.

True, but not at the rate where we need yearly wage increases of large amounts. Inflation is kind of an average anyway - a loaf of bread in 5/16 may be worth less in 5/17, due to a huge variety of other factors. Same goes for any other product.

Agree with you again - which is why I think welfare should in most cases be abolished. People need to work for their living, unless they genuinely can't (and not oh i can't because i'm too fat, or have a bullshit psych disorder, etc).

As for the last part yeah that's my point - why would someone put themselves through years of school/training, go in debt, all that, when they could be making basically the same as someone who doesn't need any of those qualification?

>minimum wage retards get 150% wage increase
>I get 1%
Fuck this shit

Literally all that will happen is some people will lose their jobs and rent will go up. You will still be poor.

>They also don't seem to get that this disrupts the value of the labor pool.
This is exactly my issue with the minimum wage debacle, because people apparently think employers are just going to voluntarily raise wages across the board. Why on earth would an engineering company pay their 30k/year employees just because the burger flippers down the street are making 25k/year? The devaluing of careers like this will most certainly come back to bite everyone except stupid uneducated niggers in the ass.

>work for years
>get a $1 wage increase
>all of that goes to shit because liberals want to be reelected

What will happen to pensioners? Rent goes up but their pension doesn't

Sounds like communism-lite

Liberals don't give a fuck about pensioners lol. They want the young vote. Kathleen wynne may even get re-elected because of this shit.

Fucking lowers hydro prices temporarily (will have to pay more in the future to offset the savings now) and now she proposes the minimum wage increase.

We are fucked.

And seniors keep voting liberal because "that's the working class party tories are only for the rich" then each election they wonder why things are worse.

Exactly.

>this guy gets it

The nightmare never ends.

Liberals don't have the brain power to mental work through cause and effect. That's why they are all for things that look great upfront but lead to catastrophe in the long run.

We raised all prices 30% across the board, over night, because of min wage increases.

The consumer always bears the burden.

Some people complained but a well placed sign, a blurb on our website, and simple explanation over the phone, explained that to keep our small business running and to continue providing excellent service prices had to go up to match wage increases.

Our sales werent hurt much. Some complaned but most understood. I would NOT say that they appreciated it though.

>raise minimum wage
>don't change tax brackets

>province indirectly makes more money from higher taxes

:^)

i am glad for this ama

you're a fucking idiot

i think you hit the next bracket at like 43k

You're all circlejerking cucks.
>muh salary wont be as good
Bitch, go tell your boss you can make as much at mcdonalds for 10% of the effort
>muh automation
You think corps wouldn't have automated jobs if they could? Try handling a mcdonald customer line for 15 minutes with robots, see how those fatfucks start complaining
>muh price increases
Prices in canada have already jumped 30% in some cases just due to the loonie diving. Just compare prices on amazon.com vs .ca.
>muh company will close
Loser corp should've gone bankrupt in the first place. These aren't non-profits, they're here to make money. They can't compete, they die, and others will take their places.

Basic economics, more money to middle class workers, slight inflation.
Wage increase has been bubbling for decades now. Kept artificially low via work permit programs that imported virtual slaves to staff those fucking tim horton's.

Case in point, Costco high wages, low prices, very profitable.

>feeling instead of thinking

I don't understand why you consider this to be stupid.
If anything it presents liberals as more intuitive than their opponents.
After all, thinking itself is only a measure of anxiety. It's how your brain resolves abnormal data.
What you're essentially saying is that conservatives are having difficulty processing the new reality lol.

of course, they Harper's weren't showmen at all: youtube.com/watch?v=-1XbkWaY4IM

How much are you being paid to suck Jewish cock?

The economy isn't being held back by a lack of investment capital.
In fact, the current glut of investment capital is what keeps interest rates so low, and also drove the mortgage crisis of 8 years ago.
People have tons of money to invest and not enough places to invest it.
The only way left to promote economic growth is to increase wages.
And bottom-end wages are only going to grow through government mandate.

...or maybe we could build a wall and blame China, India and Mexico for fucking shit up even though the rust belt has lost far more jobs to automation than outsourcing.

More than you can afford.
This is why capitalism wins.

Why do they pay them more than minimum wage now?

I agree, as long as my burger you flip cost me 10 US and i now pay 15 US per gallon of petro. Keep your end of the world agreement to urself Frenchy

>>province indirectly makes more money from higher taxes
That's not how gradated taxes work.
Even a billionaire only pays 10% on the first $9,275 of taxable income.
If you go $1 over into a higher bracket you only pay the higher percentage on that dollar.
You CAN'T lower your take-home pay by increasing your gross.

Spoken like a true middle manager.

but now you have more people in higher brackets

...

Not to mention he dropped the mother fucking bombs on some nips.
Go Truman.

>>muh salary wont be as good
>Bitch, go tell your boss you can make as much at mcdonalds for 10% of the effort
You don't have to make close to $15/hr for this to effect you. As long as you're not a worthless piece of garbage making less than $15/hr your wage is effectively lowered.

I make $45/hr and I'm in a union. Literally nothing I can do but just see my wage devalued.

>but now you have more people in higher brackets
Their take home pay still goes up.
Or are you complaining that the government will get more tax revenue if the economy improves?
Oh noes!

We had 300 hundred years of prosperity before the minimum wage

>Their take home pay still goes up.
not in real dollars
>the economy improves?
No we just get inflation

Well, the ones who are still employed will benefit from it. I have a feeling it won't be Juanita and Tyrone who take 4 cig breaks an hour and mess up every 3rd order.

>We had 300 hundred years of prosperity before the minimum wage
Not even close.
We had sharecropping, people being hung for stealing bread, people selling themselves into slavery to avoid starvation, debtors prisons, etc.

If $15 is good, $150 is better.

But, $1,500,000 would be best!

Can you imagine working one hour PER YEAR and being a millionaire? Fucking GENIUS.

If millionaires weren't so greedy we could all be millionaires and barely have to work at all. We gotta let the government can fix this. Once they get to decide how much I get paid per hour of work, then I too can be rich!

Stop being a nigger, if the bare minimum is now $15, than your relative worth has increased. This is a much better comparison point than a COLA increase during salary negotiation time.

You can bet your union will bring that up next bargaining session.

When you neighbor sells his house at a higher price, the value of yours goes up too.

.

If things were so bad then why were millions of people coming here?

Liberals love policies that sound good in a vacuum and are completely irrational and unrealistic in practice

>When you neighbor sells his house at a higher price, the value of yours goes up too.

>housing prices going up are a good thing

>>Their take home pay still goes up.
>not in real dollars
Yes, in real dollars.
Low-end employee wages make up a tiny part of consumer goods costs.
Google "Gini Index".

Isn't a big mac like $2?

We dont all live in a bubble economy.
Stable growth in the housing market is expected.
Unless you want to be in Detroit.

Holy shit this is awesome. I'm getting $3.60 raise!

They have to raise everyone's wages to retain employees

One: If all minimum wage employers have to pay more, it won't make any one of them less competitive.
Two: Even if business owners were being pinched, they aren't going to respond by downsizing.

>Unless you want to be in Detroit.
Detroit's problems are not economic

>If things were so bad then why were millions of people coming here?
I'm describing the entire planet, not just Burgerland.
But do you notice Euro's aren't coming here in droves anymore?
That's because it's easier to be poor in a country where the Overton window isn't shifted so far right.

Left, Right, Center, Up, Down all use their fee fees.

The only no feelings based politics is logic and science.

>Isn't a big mac like $2?
Fuck no.
google.com/search?q=big mack price
God, you people are ignorant.

>I'm describing the entire planet, not just Burgerland.
Nobody cares about the rest of the world
>That's because it's easier to be poor in a country where the Overton window isn't shifted so far righ
Have fun being a welfare bum in yurope

...

>Have fun being a welfare bum in yurope
Fiscal conservative politics are making America the next Mexico.

Thank being able to take foodstamps for that

Fuck these useless nigger tier jobs that wetbacks do. They don't deserve "career" money to do shit that 14 year olds used to do to learnthe value of a dollar. Goddamn every penny you give to low IQ shitskins turns into MORE LOW IQ SHITSKINS.

Let's not forget most people on welfare are working poor.

>caring about income inequality
Also I already said our glory years are long gone

>They don't deserve "career" money to do shit that 14 year olds used to do

low income/minimum wage workers make up a very small percentage of people living in poverty. people living in poverty are poor because they can't find employment. by increasing the minimum wage you're just making poor people even less employable and more dependant on welfare.

none of those jobs are necessary with the exception of maybe taxis that will be automated in 5 years

>that image
>things can't happen for more than one reason

>>caring about income inequality
>Also I already said our glory years are long gone
They're gone BECAUSE of what happened to the GINI index.
Try to keep up.

This pisses me off to no end im struggling to get more then 12 (no degree) in a friends small buisnesd and this fucking cunt is going to make it all irrelevant when i finmy get atlesst 15

>$15 is an American meme that came kids not being able to pay off their masters degree debt and pay for drugs and stupid shit, demanding double what they earn at their retail job
>$15 is an easy rounded number, memorable, sticks in your head
>$15 is easy to chant at the campus protest

>by increasing the minimum wage you're just making poor people even less employable
Wrong, see:

Eat shit faggot. These stupid beaners and niggers having 10 kids while only being smart enough to sweep floors IS NOT MY PROBLEM. They should all fucking starve. Instead, they get "subsidized" by the working white man and get fat as fuck off greasy nigger fast food. THEN they need "subsidezed" health care fo dey diabetes so they can milk more money from the working class and shit out more beaners.

IF YOU HAD A HUMAN RANGE IQ YOU WOULD GROW THE FUCK UP AND GET OFF DRUGS LONG ENOUGH TO PROGRESS IN A CAREER, NIGGER.

Get better friends

>You think corps wouldn't have automated jobs if they could?
They could, the cost just needs to justify it.

If wages surpass the point which investing in automated processing is cheaper, they will begin adopting the alternative methods.

As someone who is in the automational development side of things, I don't give a fuck I look forward to working less and replacing menial tasks with computerized options tbqh

they have been gone for a long time
Also income inequality is highest during prosperity

>work minimum wage job
>can just barely support yourself
>have a kid
>demand society to support you and your poor life choices
literally nigger tier logic. the minimum wage is already a living wage. you just can't raise a family on it because you're not supposed to. those jobs are meant for teenagers and college students not 30 year olds with families

>subsidized
>working for a salary

kek dat file name, i read it in his voice

This is correct, but to claim a wage increase is the main driver in this process is gross exageration.
Witness cashier-less checkout, it just doesnt work.

>wrong see:
i don't get how the post you linked proves anything. companies won't hire less people like in that comic, they will hire the same amount of people but the people they hire will be worth paying $15. they're not gonna hire tyrone johnson with no job experience living on welfare because his labor is not worth $15. you're also ignoring the impact on small business who only employ a handful of people. i can't grow my business as fast if i have to pay some 16 year old kid a family supporting wage for some manual labor any shithead could do

Correct.

Horses were put out of work by cars.
Car washers put out of work by drive thru automatic car washers.
etc etc

The human element in commerce will always remain, just that it will require more skills to participate and get ahead. Evolve or die, as it always has been.

>taxes would go down and welfare recipients would now magically be better off if we just added more digits to people's bank accounts
>wages wouldnt have to increase for everyone because the person whi was making 15 dollars an hour would be thrilled to do the same job for burger flipper pay
>the decrease in lurchasing power would be great for everyone not making minimum wage
>we cant though because of ebil corporations who will do anything to protect their precious profits
>those corporations would totally just eat the increase cost in paying their employees
>not a chance they would pass it on to the consumer effectively meaning that the bottom tier of earners would still be bottom tier and after the market adjusts to new costs they would be right back where they started only with higher numbers

15$ is a meme spread by parasites unwilling to make something of their life but also unwilling to see themselves as the failures they are so instead they lay the blame at the feet of those who have made something of their lives all in the sacred name of "fairness"

youtu.be/yC9b-rh6ywE

Aussies get paid in USD?

that fucking same vapid weird face, with the mouth...they all have it. Carl the cuck, every one of them. FUCKING THEY LIVE.

>This is why capitalism wins.
Implying that having the government's hands in your pockets voluntarily is somewhat capitalism... fucking nigger

lmao correct? what are you? a fucking retard? cashier less shit works wonderfully if you're not brain dead. the problem now is evolution has stopped, almost every fucktard (yourself included) can pass on their genes....this is fucking backwards and we ought ought to hang this bitch

this, liberals cannot comprehend second and third order effects

this is we have economists

Study after study after study shows that minimum wage increases screw people looking for entry-level work, generally the 'working poor'.

In the case of jobs that can't be automated, well....I work with a lot of t-shirt printers. Probably 50% of them are closing or moving out of the state or even the country over California's adoption of the $15 minimum wage.

But CA doesn't give a shit, because we have Google and Apple here, I guess.

Mis-comprehended what you were trying to say m8, chill

If she wins again... And Turdeau... ffs

Come on, no free market economy would have stockboys and engineers that close together. The professional firms will have to compete with retail for the same employees (because why should I get a degree to do back office work when I could just work in a store for the same salary)? You guys are the ones not seeing the big picture.
