Stopping, reversing, or altering long-term global climate trends by expanding government's ability to steal your money was never viable at any time, it's a delusion.
Now we could actually do some pretty spectacular things to slow down warming trends or even cool the planet, like build several space elevators and orbital factories to then construct massive reflectors that will bounce portions of the sun's light back into space before it reaches earth. Then all the climate change evangelists can applaud and congratulate each-other and virtue signal as we descend into another mini ice-age and billions of people die due to famine.
