Eh, a market crash won't affect anything right away. It took a good 2-3 years after the 2008 debacle for all the small businesses around here to shutter and then it all stayed shuttered for a good 4-5 years after that.
A crash (if it happens) is something to pay attention to, but there is always some lag built into the system. It's big and slow.
