I saw this movie last night for the first time...

I saw this movie last night for the first time. Is the point of the movie to show that Whites are racist and blacks are good.

The film shows the victim black guy. But the FILM ENDS WITH A BLACK GUY SHOOTING A WHITE KID?

Why is this movie rated so high? It was kinda boring desu.

What's a "black guy?"
Is that like a nigger?

The first half is the only bit worth watching.

>Is the point of the movie to show that Whites are racist and blacks are good.
>the FILM ENDS WITH A BLACK GUY SHOOTING A WHITE KID

there's also a scene when he shaves his head again. the moral of the story is that some things never change

You must be the kind of dude who's surprised that the man and the woman in the porn clip didn't marry at the end

The point of the movie was to show that violence is a vicious circle. It was supposed to end with Edward Nortons character shaving his head again but he didn't like the idea so now the movie just makes black people look like assholes.

>Is the point of the movie to show that Whites are racist and blacks are good.
No.
It's basically about how hatred breeds hatred and how that's not good for anyone.

...

thats a good one, i'll remember it

thats fair

First time I saw it I thought it was showing that racism from both sides is bad

The movie was going to end with him going back to being a skinhead after the shooting, but Edward Norton didn't like that so he had it changed.

The character Edward Norton plays was supposed to go back to being racist once his bro got shot but he didn't like that and wouldn't do it so the movie is what it is now. That curb stomp scene is iconic though

That's not the point of the movie you dumbass. You went into it hoping you'd get propaganda from one side, but It's designed to tell a story of racial tension and its violence in the reality of everyday life.

Never relax, the movie.

Average guy becomes skinhead and gets to jail after killing nigger that tried to break into their house. His kid brother becomes neo-nazi as well. In jail rare case of civilized nigger convinces that being nazi was wrong. He convinces his brother that being nazi is wrong. Brother gets killed because he relaxed while in presence of niggers.

Moral of story. He was right in first time around. Never relax when there is niggers around. Only way to solve violent crime issues is restoring strict racial segregation.

That would have been a much better ending desu

I hate this movie. Not for any of the messages or anything, just the tone

All the racial movies have this stupid 'this is heavy, heavy shit' tone to them which I suspect is just to try and get oscar noms

It feels really cheap to me. Might as well just have a picture of that hoser from Get Out with his mouth agape and eyes watery/sad and adagio for strings from Platoon playing for 2 hours

pretty much this. around blacks never relax

This movie is the ultimate persuasion by feels movie ever.
Nothing Danny says is ever countered in the film. Also, he did nothing wrong in defending his property. His dad was killed by blacks who didn't like it that he was putting out a fire.
In the end blacks turn out to destroy his life even after he threw away all his logic and reason just because he met a funny one.
If there was a sequel to this movie Danny's mom would be raped and killed by blacks and Danny would be stabbed by them while they burn down the entire town during a chimpout and he would still be renouncing his prior beliefs.

>Average guy becomes skinhead and gets to jail after killing nigger that tried to break into their house

Nah, he becomes a skinhead after his firefighter father was killed in the projects trying to put out a house fire in a black neighborhood.

Then black people try to steal his car. He kills one of them and goes to prison, a black guy convinces him racism is bad, then black people kill his brother.

This is where he's supposed to return to being a skinhead but he doesn't so the lesson of the movie is that even though black people commit lots of crimes the white man can and should rise above it.

well, the cut you saw displeased the director so much he attempted to have his name removed, so it's a bastardisation of what he intended.

However, I do find it interesting that black characters aren't really portrayed in a positive light either. Derek and his brother are portrayed as being intelligent and articulate, but animated by rage. The blacks characters, aside from the principal, are all criminals. Also note that the kike teacher is pushing typical lefty talking points about Rodney King.

I think the point the director wanted to make was that le ebil Nazi larpers aren't inhuman monsters, and to some degree have a rational basis for their rage. And therefore, this simplistic dichotomy between 'evil racist' and 'righteous person of colour' is an illusion that is not borne out in reality. The truth is far more complex.

The point wasn't to show that whites are evil and blacks are good, it was to show that hate is a vicious cycle and blah blah multiculturalism
