Islamic science

Was Islamic science really "the most advanced" before the siege of baghdad?

Wasn't China more advanced?

There was no "Islamic Science" then because there was no Islam. There was Arabic and various other ME science but they were all turned to shit by the goatfucking horde and plunged into hundreds of years of retardation.

Islamic golden age is a meme.
Most Islamic discoveries were in places like Iberia

No, but it was on the same level as Europe until the late Middle Ages

Science e back then consisted of experiments like, let's make him eat shit and see if he lives

There was definitely a Central Asian golden age. It fed on Platonic philosophy and Asian material science to do some pretty great things.

They considered the Levant to be a backwater, though.

No, the middle east was far more advanced than China.

However the advanced countries were in Mesopotamia, Persia, the Levant, Iberia, etc areas that had been advanced for millennia, not shitholes like the Arab peninsula which have always been backwards.

The only reason science, etc advanced so noticeably was the coincidental spread of Hindu numerals right after the spread of Islam.

Central Asia was still solidly Indo-European up until the Turkic/Mongol invasions

Only after they invaded did Central Asia become the shithole it is today.

The only thing that 'arabic scholars' did was steal shit from other civilizations at the end of the day. Look at the technology the 'scholars' 'discovered'.

It's literally the records and discoveries of the ancient world that they took when they assaulted major cities, killed and enslaved people in them, and then raided the library.

It'd be like me, at this moment, leading an army into Apple, killing and enslaving everyone, then producing the iphone and in 200 years being given credit for 'saving the science.' Yet for some reason academics today can't stop slobbering over their balls and look at facts.

Here's a fun list of the "greatest" mathematicians in history with their ethnicity/race/nationality listed

Byzantine /sci/ was the best in that time you brainlet.

where is the ethnicity listed

No, they werent. They had a Monopoly on the classical Research material due to conquering the successor states of Greece. But at that time up until ca. 1600 they were on par with the Europeans. Thing was, that the extreme Versions of Islam got into power and pretty much considered Research "unholy" this crushed any scientific advance up until today

Glad to see Tits make the list.

wrong version

It really wasn't

The middle east had optics, astronomy, mathematics, medicine, most of which was continued from Greco-Roman through (which itself was continued from Mesopotamian thought)

here

The Byzantines also had them, moron. They even had the "Greek fire" a technology we can't replicate even to this day.

But only because we dont know the exact formula for it
If you consider that we know Napalm and White Phospour, we really dont Need another formula for Setting People on fire

The point is that the Byzantines were just as advanced as the Arabs, most likely even more.

The Byzantines were the Successors of the Roman Empire ! Off course they were more adcanced than the Arabs.
Them, The Sassanids, the Egyptians and all Greek and Northern African Nations (Copts) were more advanced than the Arabs at that Point

It was all just Persians continuing on their pre-Islamic scientific trajectory.
Nearly all the major figures were Persians and it would have happened anyway without Islam.

So why is he claiming they weren't?

Le Islamic science is a meme. Muslims have always been useless desert rats. Most of the great achievements of "Muslim golden age" were done by non-Muslim communities, such as Assyrian Christians. What little was developed by actual Muslims was usually shit, such as the works by Al-Khwarizmi which tell how to divvy up slaves which has been memed as some sort of mathematical genius

For what I know in math the Persians / Mesopotamian Arabs were the most advanced at this time (could solve 2nd degree equations, negative numbers N shieet)

The Chinese had gunpowder, but that didn't really make them more advanced in terms of optics, astronomy, physics, mathematics, etc

Because Byzantines didn't have any of the physic or mathematical accomplishments that the middle east did at the time.

And the Sassanians, Egyptians, North Africans, etc (persians) had been conquered by the Muslims Arabs.

It should be pointed out that most scientists weren't "Bedouin Arab" racially but were just Middle Eastern people who were forced to speak the arab language after the Muslims took over.

Prior to the Arab invasions the populations of the Middle East were far closer to Europeans.

However over time the populations of the Middle East and North Africa became more Sub Saharan Africans and Arabic.

>We reconstructed the genetic structure of the Levantines and found that a pre-Islamic expansion Levant was more genetically similar to Europeans than to Middle Easterners.
These are basically correct

Speaking an Arabic language doesn't mean you are racially Arabic (although over time Arabs eventually did racially Arabize/Africanize most of the Middle East) anymore than speaking English makes you English.

Mate, I know these things. Furthermore, the Middle East didn't have any accomplishments at all, they just stole from the Greco-Roman world and applied the said knowledge. What scientific breakthrough did they make before the sacking of Baghdad?

Wrong, ancient Greecs allready had a working model of the Solar System Long before Islam even existed
A Greek mathematician allready had, through mathematics proofed that the earth was round and had calculated (with only a few miles difference) how big the earth was
How do you think those guys did it without a fucking mathematical System of their own ???
And those libraries still stood by the time the arabs came along
All those Systems were Greco-Roman, yes the Persians built quite some accomplishments on that knowledge
But if you look at the advances in the Barbaristan called Europe at that time, it isnt something to call that great

>Was Islamic science really "the most advanced" before the siege of baghdad?
no... because of this guy:

>What scientific breakthrough did they make before the sacking of Baghdad?
base-10 counting system
naming most of the stars in the sky

Wrong also, a Hindu dude named Aryabhata of Kusumapura invented Base-10 a Hundred years before Islam got relevant
It just spread from India accross the World
