The DUP has distanced itself from remarks made by MLA Sammy Wilson off camera while being interviewed for BBC Spotlight.
Mr Wilson was talking to a member of the public, who said, 'Get the ethnics out', to which the East Antrim MP appeared to reply, 'You are absolutely right you know'.

Does May have to backtrack her internet regulation plans now?
Just when I was thinking there wouldn't be lefty outrage on social media. Get DUP searched on twitter.

Indeed.
keeping this bumped so we have a thread to migrate too in the thread split.

>Kinda hope the IRA takes up arms again and loses all their support in the US.
You Jews will support the IRA like you always have.

Not in a post 9/11 world.
I always get fucking pissed when Burgers defend the IRA. Though that died away after 9/11

May's speech was the most hollow, insincere and unhumble shit I've ever heard. May has taken a battering, her premiership is hanging by a thread and she is pretending that her leadership will be strong in the face one of the most testing times in British history.
She fucked it. She won't last another month and she will go down as one of the worst PMs ever.
Brandon Flores
Please user, post your best salt.

Israel armed loyalist paramilitaries against the IRA, it was African countries that armed the Irish
Juan Green
I have to agree.
While I do not expect a new election for a little while, I think May is the walking dead when it comes to PM. They will replace her with Boris or some caretaker PM and try to get a budget passed and so on so people forget this election.
Christian Rogers
So did south africa to be fair.
Adrian Rogers
>They will replace her with Boris Do conservatives have other charismatic and popular leaders?
Brayden Miller
No. One of the many reasons they're terrified of Farage is he has an actual personality.
Jonathan Thompson
Not really. Most of there MPs do not have personality at all.
Landon Thompson
They want to get a new leader before Brexit talks resume so they can hit the reset button on it.
Nathan Ortiz
Pretty sure South Africa is an African country.
Colton Hill
>Israel Not who I was referring to.
Joseph Stewart
Boris is neither charismatic nor popular.
Jacob King
No. They're dead in the water just like labour. Corbyn is not a fucking personality. He's just as much of a dead fish as may. It's a fucking state but really we shouldn't be focused on personality politics anyway.
Ethan Young
he's popular with the upper middle class tarquins
Nathan Price
South africa helped armed the loyalist. This was back in the day of Afrikaner rule.
Benjamin Roberts
>Do conservatives have other charismatic and popular leaders?
On the front benches, or among the Conservatives which people have actually heard of? No.
I imagine on the backbenches there's a few though, but they probably won't come to the front unless it's a repeat of 2005 where David Cameron came out of fucking nowhere. Problem with that this time around is that we're dealing with Brexit at the same time.
He worked as a journalist and has a lot of journalist chums who create a false impression of popularity. And the thicker type of Tarquin takes the news at face value creating a braying feedback loop that threatens to turn into a singularity...

Copy pasted because I'm having fun: This was a great election for Corbyn. >Gone from a 40 point minimum loss to a 29 seat gain in 3 weeks. >No blank check for may. >Proper opposition to May's madness. >DUP needs soft Brexit. >May finishing the job of destroying the tories. >Labour elected next election.
The DUP take the Tory Majority to 2 IF they all vote for Tory bills. They can tank ANYTHING controversial the tories plan unless they get their blow jobs. Not to mention her own back bench rebels will need to be appeased constantly It's a terrible position to be in, weak af. Corbyn is lucky she is this insane enough to carry on desu.

Reminder: This was a great election for Corbyn. >Gone from a 40 point minimum loss to a 29 seat gain in 3 weeks. >No blank check for may. >Proper opposition to May's madness. >DUP demands soft Brexit. >Conservative back benchers demand hard brexit. >May finishing the job of destroying the tories. >Labour elected next election.
What they get is no brexit due to impossible concessions demanded by all sides. It sucks if you wanted out hard and fast, our negotiations will be a joke.
The DUP take the Tory Majority to 2 IF they all vote for Tory bills. They can tank ANYTHING controversial the tories plan unless they get their blow jobs. Not to mention her own back bench rebels will need to be appeased constantly
It's a terrible position to be in, weak af. Corbyn is lucky she is this insane enough to carry on desu. She won't put her party or country first though so, it's all gravy for Labour. Open popcorn and enjoy the shitshow.
Ayden Perry
People said the same thing about the Tory's when they had to be with the lib-dems
Ayden Nguyen
If I take anything away from this election it's that we need total war against the Republic of Ireland
Jackson Morgan
The lib dems, for all their faggotry actually agree with the Tories on some core things and were pussies. They also didn't have the elephant in the room, brexit. >Soft Brexit. This kills the tory.
Benjamin Foster
Holy shit. So...in reality...did this result end up making your government move further to the right? Because they have to cave in to DUP demands? It reminds me of the US Republican Party having to cave to demands by the Freedom Caucus.
Mason Anderson
I'd say DUP gives the Tories exactly what they needed:
Adult supervision.
Anthony Torres
>DUP demands soft Brexit
what are you on lad?
Alexander Myers
What would happen if Farage became Prime Minister? Why don't they just go for it?
Kayden Howard
Additionally, Lib Dems were an easy scapegoat for a lot of shit and were punished by the elecotorate because voters could punish them UK wide. Not the case with DUP, Tories will take the backlash for any fuckups.
Matthew Brown
So we're safer with this result than a landslide Conservative victory? With Conservative landslide they may have been emboldened to fuck everything up.
Grayson Kelly
What happens if the Tories refuse to kick gays off roofs or publish a statement saying dinosaurs didn't real or whatever the DUP want out of this deal? They still have more seats than everyone else combined unless the DUP are salty enough to shift to the left out of spite.
Julian Russell
>Hopes are facts. Would you like me to quote their leader saying such? Okay.
>Arlene Foster, the DUP leader, is keen to avoid a hard border with Ireland and has spoken against a "hard Brexit."
>She has said: “No-one wants to see a ‘hard’ Brexit, what we want to see is a workable plan to leave the European Union, and that’s what the national vote was about – therefore we need to get on with that.
>“However, we need to do it in a way that respects the specific circumstances of Northern Ireland, and, of course, our shared history and geography with the Republic of Ireland".
Good luck juggling that with the Tory backbenchers.
Tory landslide would have vindicated May and her hard brexit aims would actually be achievable and pass through parliament with ease. Not now. So no, you're not.
Jaxson Hughes
It's true sadly. Only bad thing about the DUP that I can see so far
Nathan Diaz
Unironically repeal universal suffrage. As I get older the idea of giving EVERYONE over the age of 18 a voice in the choosing of our leaders becomes increasingly absurd.
Carson Powell
the DUP more concerned that NI and the rest of the UK have the same Brexit status.
They will live with a hard Brexit as long as NI and UK both have a hard exit.

what would it take for Farage to become a Tory and run for PM?
Jason Miller
How do you think her conversation with May went down?
Jaxon Diaz
You took her speech right at face value. The DUP knows what plays to their electorate. Being able to actively present themselves as the Unionist vanguard against any sort of half-hearted Brexit, which would maintain any sort of link with the South, is exactly what they want. The speech plays well to the mainland, the province is different.
It will be untenable to end freedom of movement with a soft border between NI and Eire
Benjamin Harris
>"Your Majesty I would like to form a government alongside the Democratic Unionist..."
>"Jolly good."
Ayden Cruz
Since it been here for hours while other threads that should have been pruned have come and gone, and it rather comfy.
Landon Hughes
>HOPE Haha, no. They need soft border and easy trade or the will btfo out of their economy and have stated during campaigning over and over that they are anti-hard brexit.
Kek Her speech, the will of the NI people, the fact it would be electoral suicide for them in NI and that their trade relies on it. Other than that you're totally right dude.
Jack Rogers
And the DUP will be fine if its a soft border if the rest of the UK is soft border.
they will be also be fine if it a hard border if the rest of the UK is a hard border.
What they do NOT want is the republican concept of a hard border in england wales and scotland, but a soft border in NI, as they feel that is a major step of making NI part of the republic of Ireland.
Ryan Nguyen
The EU can force us to have a border
Kayden Evans
