Honestly I don't know how someone gets that way. He does consume a lot of bias media and seems quite uncomfortable hearing views he disagrees with. I've more a less decided just to keep quiet about politics now and see if all the terrorist attacks wake him up on their own.

I really don't get the boomer mindset. They are actually willing to destroy their own family just to score sympathy points with people that neither know nor care about them.
Since then I've been intermittently sending them articles about immigration, EU policy etc. It convinced tem to stop voting altogether, and turned them into politically apathetic and somewhat depressed people, which sucks, but it's a better alternative than having them remain complicit in the destruction of our surroundings.
