88 + 8 = 96
90 * 2 = 180
6 * 2 = 12
180 + 12 = 192

That's honestly not a bad example of common core. It's how I do subtraction in my head-- subtract by the nearest factor of 10 and add/subtract as necessary

Cubic inches, because units

8x2=16
16x2=32
32x4=96
96 is 100-4 so double them both for 200-8 which is 192

Most people who do math in their head break problems down to some degree.

It's easier to use systematic methods on paepr.
