100%, there is a big stink in Parliament right now as foreign companies have been contributing donations towards parties on both sides both during and after campaigning which is supposed to be illegal but possible through a loophole which also allows it not to count towards campaign donation limits. Most of it is from Chinese companies (some of which are state owned), as well as companies in Russia, the US, and EU. Essentially its hard not to imagine politicians aren't under the influence of other countries through firms rather then governments.
