Yemen General /YG/ Let's get this started with a rundown edition

What the fuck is going on in Yemen. Who is backing who? Saudi Arabia just got a fuckton of US weapons and I know they are helping the south. Houthis are being backed by Iran right?

Thanks m8

Houthis originally tried to stage a coup. President fled and the civil war ensued. Saudis get involved and start bombing Houthi controlled areas. Houthis fight back against Saudis as southern branch of Al Qaeda attacks Yemeni government forces. Houthis breach a deal with the exiled president and so it's become a 2v2.

I think that's the gist

...

Sauds bend over then Houthi fucks ass. Rinse and repeat.

The Movement today

Today, the Southern Movement is in control of all southern provinces around the city of Aden. The only visible flags being flown are those of the former southern republic, often alongside those of the Arab coalition in a show of gratitude to neighboring allies who helped push back the Houthi forces, in particular that of the United Arab Emirates.

The Movement still claims loyalty to exiled President Hadi, though disputes have arisen since Hadi dismissed two important figures of the Southern Movement from their positions as governors of the city of Aden, namelyAidarus al-Zoubaidi.

The group has managed to maintain control of the city whilst struggling with the constant threats and attacks from the local branch of Al Qaida.Despite the terrorist group's near attempts to overrun the city and torpedo the separatists’ dream of regaining their lost state, a massive and coordinated military campaign to recapture the city from Al Qaida was launched successfully with support from their Emirati allies.

We don't need a Yemen general. Just take it to /sg/ instead, it's accepted there. We even had a guy who was fighting with the Houthis. He may have died, sadly.

Aren't Houthis backed by Iran?

Yes.

keep yahud safe

Why this general now? This has already been going on for ages

Because it may heat up with Gulf Countries turning on Qatar for having ties to Iran and funding terror. Iran also funds Houthis in Yemen. The Saudis just got a ton of weapons from the US. Iran and Saudi Arabia may clash and right now US is backing Saudis and Russia does business with Iran.

We should merge it with /sg/.

Saudi crimes deserve more exposure

That's not an inherently bad thing. Anyone who launches missiles at Riyadh is fine by me.

Used to always be the case. I've never heard of a Yemen general, it always just got posted in /sg/.

Someone ought to convince the Shills creating /sg/ every day to edit the OP to include other happenings.

Aren't you the Croatia-bro who is always making the threads?

It used to be Yemen was always covered. Qatar is now, too.

But I know from Romania bro that there's only so much you can fit in the OP before Sup Forums stops you from posting it.

It's another Croat you have in mind.
