Were things really better before 9/11, or is it just people's nostalgia?

Were things really better before 9/11, or is it just people's nostalgia?

Fewer people were stabbed to death / run over / shot in Europe.

Things were a lot simpler. No smartphones, strange stores selling obscure things that noone needs, no Orwellian cameras at every corner, less sand-niggers, a sense of hope for a good future, all changed when the tuning-fork got hit on 911.

I think 9/11 is just a handy demarcation point for when things started going to shit. In reality the decline was already starting before that, but we really started seeing the effects of it in the years after 9/11.

No, it was better. I really hate having to take my shoes off at the airport.

The 90s were probably the best decade to live in all of human history. It was an unprecedented level of economic growth. Just look at GDP charts, the US economy practically doubled during that time period. Things like VCRs, cameras, personal computers, cars, floppy disks, it was really great. Banks were doing fantastically well because every loan of theirs had really good return. College graduates could get easy jobs right off the bat. Things like food, clothing and rent were far cheaper, although tech stuff (specially personal computers) were more expensive. After 9/11 things were still well, it was more around 2005 society really started going down hill. It's usually agreed among older people that the internet "died" in 2007. That was when smartphones were invented, allowing dumbasses to get an easy connection to the web, Facebook was released for people without a college email, etc. I think the world of today is much poorer and authoritarian than it was 15 or 20 years ago.

No it's definitely worse now. That doesn't mean that it was great beforehand but things are really total shit now. You never saw cops in the subway in NYC or in big numbers in general. Now you can't turn without seeing a handful of them. Airports speak for themselves. New Years Eve in Times Square have counter-terror units and K9s that you never saw before. Parades too.

things started going to shit culturally it seems like early 1998. 2001 was when the entire country fell

2001 was a better time in America, it was still 4/5ths white.

Yes, things were better.
It was a massive loss of innocence.
It was an occultic trauma ritual that unleashed most of the terrifying degeneracy rampant today and set up the spectacle panopticon

Like they say, "ignorance is bliss."
There was a lot of pre-9/11 ignorance.

The first wave of millennial progressive liberal ideologies were just beginning to be spoken. Ramped up by 2005, since 2007 full blown escalating madness.

Def better times in Canada back then. More people in general weren't on the net and more people were inclined to go hiking, fishing, camping etc.

I can't get anyone I know to even leave their hipster cities to come enjoy the countryside where I live.

>unleashed most of the terrifying degeneracy
I agree with everything but this part, how is this connected

nyc skyline was certainly better

In the 90s gasoline was under a buck

Music had multiple scenes across the country and none of it was filtered through the Jews.

It was hard to be 20something and not have a job. Employers virtually bagging people to work for them.

There were half as many spics.

The girl you were fucking didn't have multiple nudes of herself on the Internet.

You were ignorant of the world so you literally did not "knew how bad it really is". The bliss of thinking everything is alright and going to turn out alright cannot be understated.

...

But yeah the girl you were fucking also didn't shave her vajayjay so everything good was pretty much canceled out by that.

Have a (You) leaf. That makes my heart hurt.

>he fell for the shaved vag meme pushed by porn
The Jews got to you, user

We didn't know how good when had it.

TRUTH

I always feel like american leftists think that we deserved 9/11

The entire 90's decade blows away what people put up with now. And early internet on 56k baud modems was goddamn glorious.

Europe was still worth seeing back then

We were def a much more conservative country and being a patriot was still an ok thing.

>The entire 90's decade blows away what people put up with now. And early internet on 56k baud modems was goddamn glorious.
omg I remember having 56k when dumbshits had 14.4k. Laughing so hard when they couldn't download 2mb video games from the bulletin board as fast as me.

Imagine Smashmouths "All-Star" pretty much that 24/7, a little dorky, a little corny, but damn it was comfy.

Things were really bad, then they got better for a while, now they're getting really bad again

if you wanted to ask a girl out you had to grow a pair of balls. Taco Bell food was greasy and had an actual taste to it.

The "Post 9/11 World" sucks balls.
