History professor asking us to answer this question. H

What happened to the optimistic view of history as a “pattern of improving civilization?”Were we all really optimistic? Were just certain groups optimistic, i.e. were blacks, Hispanics, the poor ever optimistic? What do?

I want to go full power from the beginning, but I don't want to come across as a crazy. I already got dropped from my Philosophy class for making my professors scouter explode, and I'd like to avoid it happening again lol.
>trying to avoid getting dropped
>any suggestions?
>any spicy suggestions?
I live in a laraza capitol city btw, figured this would give some context. (but we all know there is nothing scarier than a fierce white alpha male, so fuck their feelings)

Bump.
Need halp.

i'd be glad to help you out
your question is a little vague tho
would you care to elaborate?

What happened to the optimistic view of history as a “pattern of improving civilization?”Were we all really optimistic? Were just certain groups optimistic, i.e. were blacks, Hispanics, the poor ever optimistic?

This is one of the questions we are asked to answer with a paragraph. I read through it and one thing stood out to me like a highlighter.
>were we all 'really' optimistic
>were just 'certain groups' optimistic
>i.e. were the blacks, Hispanics, and the poor ever truely optimistic
Notice how he only capitalizes "hispanics" and remember, I am going to college in a white minority city, basically one of the laraza capitols. It seems as though hes weeding out whites, as if we are somehow the only ones benefiting from America?

>Hispanic

Not a race

If you want to answer these sorts of questions without revealing your power level, I'd try doing something along these lines:

>all groups have a desire to improve civilization
>however, due to cultural/historic differences these different groups have a different perspective/definition of improving civilization
>blacks/hispanics/whatever saw improvement mostly aimed at emotional happiness
>due to Europeans and their perspective towards discovery and science amongst other things, their optimism rewarded them by elevating the world into modern civilization

would this be helpful?

>What happened to the optimistic view of history as a “pattern of improving civilization?
multiculturalism.

All factions disagree on what is good. We have no shared value systems. If you want to dig deeper, then it's because of the jews.

>What happened to the optimistic view of history as a “pattern of improving civilization?
Dont know what your on about OP, I was always under the pretense that History is cyclical and about civilizations that rise, hit their peak, then degenerate and collapse

so youre doing homework here?

>"What happened to the optimistic view of history as a “pattern of improving civilization?”
you mean who

*long impressed whistle*
Nice m8, yeah something along the line of that is perfect.
I wish more people would post school questions.
I feel like it would help reveal how deep the left has dug it claws into our youth, and help resist from a frontline viewpoint.

...

civilization is for the civilized. it takes too long to bring others into it. eventually society gives up on them and focuses on other things.

romanticism is dead. world war 1 killed it. And world war 2 finished off all the alpha males. we have surrendered our culture of improvement for one of profit and stability.

i dunno, pick and source something from that.

no problem, I enjoy having an actual informative thread on Sup Forums for a change
last few months have been nothing but a shitslinging fest
just remember, in the education system it's nearly impossible to even bring the notion that we're different as races. this is why you have to resort to culture and history, they're undisputable, even by leftists.

This seems more a historiographic question than a historic one. Check whatever readings the professor set, and maybe use the theory of civilisations rising and falling cyclically as a discussion point.

I agree with both of those, but I especially like the second one.
It is true and pathetic that we have become lethargic consumers, instead of energized trailblazers.

>What happened to the optimistic view of history as a “pattern of improving civilization?”
Start with the Enlightenment to lead into the 19th Century ideal of progress (go to the wiki page "idea of progress"). If you want to start strong, start with some quotations from Locke or others --- there really was a pervasive idea that "freed from work, mankind will turn to truth, beauty and enlightenment" (quote is mine).

If you want to take a different tack, start with WWI "The Great War" and perhaps cast a shadow over the 20th century using Dada-ism (look it up). Again, use the philosophers of the period. WWI was the first industrialized war, and set the stage (even ideologically) for the rest of the 20th century, in which the institutions of the West would come into question due in no small part to the fascist movement and the Marxist movement. No need for identity politics in this paper either.

Have some Martian tits.

That is true, it is US History instead of World History, however, my professor is a possible laraza cockroach and I want to let him know I'm redpilled on their racisms without making his scouter explode like my Philosophy teacher.
>phi.pro. asks "what in the universe will always be there?" or some shit along those lines
>i answered "good and evil. right and wrong. yin and yang. God.
>dropped 2 hours later lmfao

That's a great quote my friend, I often ponder over this exact same thing.
I NEETd for a few months last year trying to find my purpose, now I'm going to school for a Geology/Archaeology degree.
>no need for identity politics
I agree, thats why I was hoping to let the professor know these types of questions further hinder the advancement of humanity as a whole.
I have to answer 5 questions of 10 with a paragraph each and Im saving this one for last to really let him have it lol.
"How are we to succeed as a society, when the closeminded are the teachers, and the open minded the pupils?"-me just now
>nice Martian tits ty

>dropped from my Philosophy class for making my professors scouter explode
Expand on this

Culture played a central role in developing european civilizations, as they all compared themselves to Rome or Greek City States.
Being able to start over with a progressed cultural setting is an enormous advantage over African civilizations, which had basically no way to recover knowledge after the fall of an “empire”.
Everyone put an effort in trying to surpass those ancestors and Church helped in the circumstance too. Don’t forget that every single scholar until the renaissance was a cleric.

Check the top one m8.

Use Oswald Spengler and the book 'Decline of the West'. Use the example of how he predicted NAzi Germany. State that civilizations go through patters of rise and fall, but that technology generally keeps going. Use the example of Roman concrete as something that was lost after the decline. This means that every 'fall' some technology is lost, but the general progress of technology continues. Research all of this and good luck.

That's like the lowest possible powerlevel.
It's close to what my gay jesuit philosophy professor said on the first day of Intro to Philosophy 101.

People playing in pig shit 200 years ago were just as happy as your average modern alcoholic factory worker. Technology and capitalism is just a manifestation of human nature, of the drive that advanced man beyond the rest of the animals in the first place

We are all just victims to our own collective mania and pathos, whether or not that's a good thing or not is subjective

>liberals hate God
>liberals permeate philosophy with their pseudo-intellect of how science is the key to everything
Not sure how triggering my faggot atheist professor to drop me for mentioning God has anything to do with your jesuit fag professor, but, it seems like youre mad you cant trigger people the same way I can? Which is in itself pathetic if you ask me.

Optimism is an act of free will everyone should be capable of.

Can't capitalize on optimism if you don't have numbers to show.

What I'm saying is if a faggot cryptokike who was also a philosophy professor said the same thing that made your professor throw you out then you're deep in enemy territory and may not make it out alive.

>not mentioning how Jews use the Holocaust to further their political and social aims in class and still getting good grades

I like, I like. Its true to the core.

God doesnt favor the Jews you stupid fuck.
>look up the fall of Solomons Temple
>look up Sodom and Gamorrah
>6 gorillion must die to return in my favor

Have you ever heard of Jesus Christ?

It's like the stock market. Of course there is optimism, but it would unrealistic to expect there to be no setbacks. And it would be even worse to turn a blind eye you have enough information to expect a setback. Bubbles grow, bubble burst, we all keep marching forward.

What exactly are you on?
Ass-stabbing oven-dodger = bad
He said the same yours booted you for.
Yours = worse, make sure to stay safe

Libtards and Niggers and Mooslims. Death of civilization.

So, are you an atheist faggot, or a fake-pagan?

Please explain with all of your extensive knowledge of how God is fake. Even physicists are acknowledging the existence of God. Where do you think you dipshits "matrix/hologram/VR program bullshit comes from? God is the programmer.

>history

History can be used to better understand the present, but not to improve civilization. That's naive utopianism.
Some say that history is written by the conqueror, but that doesn't really apply to newer history.

People who rewrite and appropriate history to promote inclusion, neglect the accomplishments and struggle that brought about change.

Without the lessons from the past, we will continue to make the same mistakes in the future.

It seems the English is not strong with you.

>history professor

I hope you're underage b& and not taking fucking history at college

Just for the prerequisites :(
I know its all anti-white, Jew-ran, horseshite m8, but I have to pass in order to get my ass to Antarctica and discover our true roots.

There used to be powerful figures who (often from religious motivation) used their power and influence to make the places they lived better places (at least for the upper classes of society)

Modern society believes at our core we are monsters, not the spawn of god with infinite potential. And to control our subconciousness that urges us to destroy all that is good, modern society employs consumerism.
However, the elite that perpetuate consumerism to excessive levels and profit from it do not understand how it works and instead have been trying to cramp it down people's throats. See globalism.
Now we're left with a generation largely without an optimistic, long term world view or plan. Without an identity of self or community, no sense of belonging and without the financial means to persue anything beyond this shallow consumerist culture.

Its hard to be optimistic when there is no higher cause to rally behind that could realistically be achieved. I know Sup Forums generally roots for national socialism but actually seeing a party promoting those values is incredibly unlikely to actually gain majority control in any western government.
