My dad's family are Romani gypsies and this shit almost happened to his uncle's kid. They said him and his wife were unfit to raise the child and wanted to take him away only five months after he'd been born. Their worry? They had no fixed address. They attempted to argue my dad's uncle was homeless and so the child should be taken. It took a couple more months before police arrived to try to take his kid away but they'd called in all the extended family. No cops were going to bother messing with a horde of gypsies all ready to bury them and move on. They eventually sent a letter to my nan's home, where their mail was forwarded to, that said they'd made a reverse decision. No apology or anything.
