Well, I don't think the "everything was done by Hitler" is accurate just as referencing "Weimar" doesn't really mean one person. It's the entire Third Reich as a comparison to the previous regime.
I find most comparisons to be holding the system up to some ideal that does not exist. There was a huge workforce put into place, but nobody is claiming that the NS was the greatest thing ever with the best economy ever, etc. Near the end, there was a big deficit, as is to be expected. A peacetime economy is not equivalent to a wartime economy and it's intellectually dishonest to hold the two in the same comparative light. They were much more so pragmatists, really. Things obviously fell down the shitter when all the world powers declared war.
It isn't a surprise that Hitler wasn't really concerned with economics. They were pragmatists and lebensraum was more important.

Even lebensraum is overblown; it's get played up to "colonial imperialist" propertions, even when you remove the hyperbolic propaganda about "extermination". In reality, it was primarily about returning lands with German minorities and those taken at Versailles, to the whole; secondarily, it was about developing lands in the East which, at the time, were basically barren wilderness that even the Soviet Union failed to develop in 70 years. Development in the Soviet period, though considerable relative to the extreme LACK of development prior, still wasn't terribly impressive. For centuries, Russia has lagged in development. They're always playing catch-up. This is universally known, the only people who contest it are ideologically blind Marxists from far, far away from Eastern Europe.

That's a genuine issue. I eat maybe ~1500 calories a day at most. I just don't ever feel hungry, and I know that means a fucked up metabolism. It also means gut fat while my mid torso looks far more normal.

Well, you can't do anything to really control the distribution of fat on your body, that's mostly genetics (though you can wind up with fat if you over-developed muscle in an area then stopped working out and let it atrophy). If you're burning the right amount of calories while intaking the right KIND of calories, fats, proteins, etc, in the right ratios, you should have a decently aesthetic distribution of fat.

Start counting "streaks", or days/weeks/months in a row where you've kept a behavior modification pattern. Set up rewards for longer and longer "streaks" you maintain. Take a selfie in the mirror every two weeks to track your progress. Try different things to jump-start it, like keto, etc.

It should work if I stick to it. I've supposedly lost around 15lbs in maybe a month and a half's time down to 220lbs. I stuck with oatmeal at work with chicken breasts for dinner.
