As in any country in the world you will find more progressives in the major cities. But in Poland there is certainly fewer of them and also they tend to hide their power level. OP, I moved from USA to Hungary. Only two years later can I attempt to speak to the language. My job requires me to speak English. Many jobs like that in Eastern Europe and your money you can bring with you will go a long way. I recommend taking the risk. I live on the tight budget here too but I can live life so much fuller than I ever could in America. It helps to get in contact with any relatives you have and don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it. Think about the Benjamin Franklin effect.
