Communism is the next stage of humanity following the capitalist stage.
What exactly is communism according to Marxist-Leninists:

I mean, I don't want to live in the vast majority of capitalist countries either. Somalia is very capitalist. It sucks. If you blame socialism for USSR being shitty, blame capitalism for the rest of the world. Countries I want to live most are closest to socialist that currently exists while having a fully developed economy. Marx himself described the conditions that would be seen as part of the transition to communism before the final revolution occurs, and many of these are seen in the more left leaning european countries: single payer/provider health care, single provider education, large labour participation etc. Furthermore, most countries that are socialist in name are not in practice (eg vietnam).

Famine is a resut of small communities being denied their needs by the larger society. Communism is a direct response to this, however if too localised, it is at risk of being starved by hostile actors. Such was the case during the Russian famines. Furthermore, in both of the great famines of the 20th century, Russia was coming out of a major war which had decimated its population and infrastructure. This was the result of fascism, not communism.

What actually happened is this. Jewish "intellectuals" from Europe made up the leadership of the Bolsheviks. They were a bunch of faggots who hated Russians. They decided to kill all of the free peasants who were smart enough to buy farm land and make it a profitable enterprise. These were the Kulaks. Millions disappeared into the gulags, or were just killed outright.
Then it turns out the kike faggot Bolsheviks didn't know anything about farming. They killed all the people who knew what the fuck they were doing. Then the farms USSR relied on for survival suddenly weren't productive enough to feed the people, and millions starved. Jewish Bolsheviks didn't starve, but millions of other people died.
