We have a suicide epidemic among young men, many reasons behind it, but let's just call it "it's current year!". Not much talk about it because it's not cool or something.
In a few years, modern women will start hitting the age of no return when it comes to establishing a family, again, because it's current year. Most of them will end alone wittering into a pool of bitterness and increasing mental issues. Others will try to settle with anything they can find. At those ages, only worthless losers are available. Things will likely end poorly anyway for them.
Ironically, men fare surprisingly better since age and appearance don't matter for this sort of things as long as you have your shit together.
My prediction? The suicide epidemic will get worse and this time it'll hit women hard.
Perhaps only then the "current year" issue will finally become a subject worth talking about...

Our societies are particularly indifferent towards the old, even today, aging alone is harsh; for women is even worse.
Historically, also, women uncommonly get old "alone" and even when they do they are surrounded by their original family. In modern days their numbers will skyrocket and, even worse, because of the smaller family sizes and crumbling family values there is not going to be a family to keep them company.
And this can and will keep backfiring.
