how it might've been: >Poles ally with 3rd Reich and as a compromise give them the pivotal Danzig effectively being part of the strongest union in Europe >they don't uselessly die in Warsaw uprising because some kike told them to >instead they are with their families and can look toward brighter future, can share ideals and technology with their more advanced neighbour
what happened: >govna say 'fuck those krauts, we won't talk with them, we are husaria' - instead of looking for what's beneficial to country and making ties with your neighbour who respected Jozef Pilsudski you follow blindly whatever YOUR govna said and which was in interest of only your govna and ((them)) >bad politics take you at brink of extinction, but you keep fightinig because at this point 3rd Reich is hostile and there's no turning back, even if you had nothing against Krauts you now have a reason to or have found one
Poles still think nazis were the bad guys, Poles still can't see that they were betrayed by their own government (and should have taken action at the time), they looked for help in all the wrong places (UK, France, Russia, USA) instead of reaching to the open German hands
no, we haven't gained any freedom, we were betrayed by the Allies and thrown into two another nightmarish systems - communism and capitalism; yes, maybe germanification wasn't along with slavic 'ideals', but at the same it was ultimately the better route for successful society and maybe you should've sat on the fence for a while instead of showing off in the middle of maelstorm and stupidly losing your country for ever to ((them))
we weren't the big victors of this war, we were the SORE LOSERS, nobody even mentions your deeds Poles, that's what you get for caring for someone else's business and not your own enjoy living your idealistic daydreams where Poland dindu nothing and where there couldn't have been a better alternative at the time than to go to war with two super powers
Wow OP. Not that I don't think what you said is untrue but.. are you sure you are actually Polish? Because every Pole I've ever seen on this site is incredibly chauvinistic bordering on arrogant and would never admit their country did anything wrong ever in history. Surely you are just Ukrainian no?

I'm Polish. I would just rather be wrong than dishonest to myself. And I simply don't care about what foreigners think about my country - Poles often try to bend the truth on all kinds of subjects so the country looks perfick.
There is place for that but when you goof around all the time there's no actual time for looking deeper into what could have been actually done to prevent many of the mistakes that were made. Some people just cannot acknowledge they may make mistakes, they would rather lie than admit they are in wrong.
I think than analytical and open-minded approach is far better for a person who cares about their country than following the government's scenario of what was bad and what was good for your country. These guys are good for nothing pawns.

Yes, we probably should've aligned with Hitler. That's what Piłsudski wanted anyway - either to crush him with a pre-emptive strike, or to create an alliance. It's a shame he died before he could make sure that we're ready for the coming storm.
What does this realization change in the grand scheme of things? Absolutely nothing. What's done can't be undone. Germans are not our friends right now and we have to defend our nation from their marxist ideology and from the EU, because they present an existential threat to us. If other people are going to call us chauvinistic and arrogant, fuck them. If it causes some naziboo tears, fuck them too. Better chauvinistic than dead.

I love my country and value its national history and cultural identity but I would never act so disingenuous as to act as if my country is perfect and has never done anything wrong ever. If someone else does something wrong, I won't take the blame for it but if I know my country has done something wrong, then I'll admit it. It won't make me like my country less, but walking around disparaging other nations while claiming that mine is perfect and that everyone else should also agree me about that (Like most Poles on this site unfortunately) is unproductive and only fuels division in my humble opinion.
Lincoln Davis
Stfu and kys idiot:
>Nearly two years before the invasion of the Second Polish Republic, between 1937 and 1939, the Sonderfahndungsbuch Polen was being secretly prepared in Germany.[2] It was compiled by the “Zentralstelle IIP Polen” (Central Unit IIP-Poland) unit of the Geheime Staatspolizei or Gestapo ("Secret State Police") with help from some members of the German minority living in pre-war Poland.[3] Execution of Poles in Kórnik by SS-Einsatzgruppe, 20 October 1939. Image from German Federal Archive
>The Central Unit IIP-Poland was created by Reinhard Heydrich in order to coordinate the ethnic cleansing of all Poles in "Operation Tannenberg" and the Intelligenzaktion, two codenames for the extermination actions directed at the Polish people during the opening stages of World War II.[4]
>Formally, the Intelligenzaktion was a second phase of Operation Tannenberg (Unternehmen Tannenberg) conducted by Heydrich's Sonderreferat. It lasted until January 1940 as the first part of the Generalplan Ost. In Pomerania alone 36,000–42,000 Poles including children were killed already before the end of 1939.[4]
>The list identified more than 61,000 members of Polish elite: activists, intelligentsia, scholars, actors, former officers, Polish nobility, Catholic priests, university professors, teachers, doctors, lawyers and even a prominent sportsman who had represented Poland in the Berlin Olympics in 1936. People in the Special Prosecution Book were killed outright by Einsatzgruppen and Volksdeutscher Selbstschutz or sent to concentration camps to die. The German death squads including Einsatzkommando 16 and EK-Einmann fell under direct command of SS-Sturmbannführer Rudolf Tröger, with overall command by Reinhard Heydrich.[4]
No Pole thinks that our country is perfect. Some of us simply like to trigger the arrogant western Europeans due to the fact that they think their countries are hot shit even though they're essentially turning into Africa 2.0.
It's mostly about shitting on the current marxist iteration of Germany and the EU, if you're a western nationalist and you're okay with us, than we're okay with you.

I get what you mean, I don't want my country ending up like Germany, literally killing itself for its past wrongs both real and fake. But I don't want the other extreme either. I would just look obnoxious if I did. Sure I can be biased towards my country but I should maintain at the very least a semblance of impartiality when dealing with others or risk losing their attention or support altogether.
Joshua White
Generanplan Ost is dubious at best, but atrocities were committed against the Poles by the Germans and vice versa, that is the nature of war I'm afraid. Hitler wanted to remove all Poles from those territories annexed to Germany and force them into the Generalgovournement so that upon a victorious conclusion the Poles claims to the land would be extremely weak. In return, the Soviets and Poles and Czechs expelled all Germans in the Sudentenland and East of the Oder (And a little west of it as well like Stettin) to weaken the Germans claims on the land. And it worked. Those lands are Polish now and the only way they could ever truly be German again is if the ethnic cleansing process was reversed AGAIN. And nobody is really willing to do that now are they. If we are supposed to know more about WW2 than the average normie than we have to be impartial as well. Sure we can a bit of a National Socialist bias but claiming that Poles weren't abused is disingenuous and doesn't help people to our cause.
Leo Russell

If that present Germany succeeds with the globalist plan to replace Europeans with 3rd world citizens, Poland and V4 states will fall in a few decades, too. Its the same claim for Europa as befor, only the complete opposit goal.

If Europe became islamic the same way christianity did, it would've been forged into our ways of life and it would probablly have been better. Islam has a prophet that is a warmonger, christianity has a prophet that is a pacifist. Either way, he didn't want to chose between either christianity or islam, he wanted a revival of Germanic paganism within the reich.
"The Fuhrer is deeply religious, though completely anti-Christian" That's a quote out of Joeseph Goebell's diary, and looking at how the SS who were the ideological perfection of the NDSAP performed pagan oaths when new recruits became members and performed pagan rituals it's fair enough to assume that Hitler was a pagan.

Look I'm not getting into this argument because I know Poles always bring it up but if we really are going to do this then by your logic Crimea belongs to one of the Germanic peoples because of its Gothic identity. It is a confirmed fact that the Germanic people were moved extremely westward by the Huns into the Roman Empire but by the time they had moved back, the Slavs and Balts had settled in. That land will be eternally contested by Slavs and Germans though.

Poland wasn't the USSR. Poland wasn't a communist state that posed a threat to Europe. And the Germans never really considered the Soviets to be actual allies, just strange bedfellows temporarily for pragmatic purposes. If the West didn't declare war on Germany when they did, not only would Poland have suffered much less but Germany's attention would have immediately turned to planning a war with the Soviet Union, the only one Hitler really really wanted.
Xavier Taylor
>Hitler liked Poland until he demanded they give up lands they'd won from Germany in a previous and they said no >therefore Poland is in the wrong
Mason Gutierrez
Hitler didn't demand lands Poland had been granted by France after WW1. In fact he was the first German politician since WW1 to recognize Poland's western boundary and renounce claims on Posen and Upper Silesia. He only asked for recognition of the annexation of Danzig (Which was a free state, politically independent but in an economic union with Poland by League of Nations Mandate) and potential Pomerelia depending on the outcome of vote to be held in the region deciding who the contested land should go to (Determined by ethnic makeup)
Wyatt Myers
Yeah, yeah, Germans should give up their current lands to the Irish.
P.S. Old Germanians =/= Modern Germans. P.P.S. Poles come PARTLY from East Germanic tribes like the Vandals and Lugii by the way.

Poles who didn't live in the corridor before the end of WW1 were barred from voting, which would bias the voting towards the Germans

And...? Danzig still wasn't actually part of the Polish Republic in 1939 so it wasn't really up to the Poles to say yes Danzig we allow you to leave Poland and join Germany. It was an independent state and if self determination means anything, it had the right to join Germany whenever it pleased. Only allied pressure prevented it from doing so. Now Germany was strong enough to reassert her position, she took what was hers.
And if all the Poles who moved there after driving out the Germans were allowed to vote wouldn't that be biased towards Poland?

But it would be unfair if the Poles did not allow Germans who had been driven out after WW1 to vote as well would it not? Basically he wished for the vote to determined on the ethnic makeup of the area immediately after WW1, so Poles that had been there before 1918 could vote, but not new migrants to the region. That was also why another point in the plan (13 Point Plan I think) was the assurance of the protection of Polish and German minorities in both states or if the Poles wished, a population exchange where Poles living in Germany would be sent to Poland and vice versa.
Jackson Richardson
Well watch the video if you haven't already. Exactly what kinda happened. ;) It was kind of the point that the king couldn't be powerful and totalitarian. After all, he was voted in democratically by the nobles, like with today's presidents and PM's. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Liberty
>Danzig still wasn't actually part of the Polish Republic in 1939 so it wasn't really up to the Poles to say yes Danzig we allow you to leave Poland and join Germany. It was an independent state Exactly! I've made this point hundreds of times towards stupid neo-Nazi apologists who think it was within Poland's borders and that somehow it was a casus beli for WW2. Retards...
Well that's to be expected I suppose. Prussians and Austrians did mix with Poles quite a bit in some areas. Shame they couldn't get along.

Well my apologies but the point I was trying to make was that while it was politically independent it was in economic union with Poland and the Polish were threatening to take action against Danzig, that can't be denied. And obviously the Poles had some form of control over Danzig otherwise Hitler wouldn't even need to ask for it to be incorporated back into Germany. He'd just as well do it. But apparently he needed their permission for something or it wouldn't have become such a driving wedge between the two countries.
