I don't expect anyone to reply to this because I don't have any tits in the OP but hopefully it'll get bumped anyways, I have important information to impart:
oldfags and astute newfags probably already know this shit, at least somewhat, but I don't give a shit, this is scientific rigor proving that the leftist progressive libshits are just a bunch of overemotional nu-males and women, empathetically becoming hysterical in turn over fucking nothing.
>Emotion shapes the diffusion of moralized content in social networks Use dumbed down meaningful words instead of this vacuous postmodernist bullshit

the paper refers to dictionaries of words that are "emotional", "moral", and "moral-emotional". see below:

If you look at the image you yourself posted, you will clearly see that there are many leftist blue dots engaging with the big right-wing cluster, but not the other way around. That means leftists are way more willing to consider the other side. I mean that's what happened: tonnes of former leftists voted Trump.

LOL. I don't see how this is a postmodernist word salad. This should be perfectly easy to understand with a bachelor's degree.

The blue area, as politically illiterate Americans seem to want to call the "left" for some reason, consists of liberals and socialists, two groups that agree in the most superficial terms about the approximate shape of society and the relative power of the ruling class vis-a-vis the rest, but differ strongly, almost irreconcilably, in the shape and nature of the power relationships between the rest and the particular means to effect that reshaping.
Bump. I have read in other places that Liberals on the whole are physically ill in some way. There's a doctor who calls them as being 'yang' which is a Chinese medicine term to basically call them unhealthy or in a state of degeneration.
That ties into the fish mouth syndrome for women, or the fact that the males are usually effeminate. It's nice to see a thread showing that their brains are ill as well. We all knew it but it's nice to see solid data supporting it.
The next step then is to try and determine what to do about it. Can we bring about some sort of mass healing by getting them onto better diets and into better lifestyles? Or are they too far gone?
Interesting stuff.
Evan Parker
Can you provide the short description please ?
Daniel Wilson
Or maybe it's 'yin'. I don't know too much about the Chinese medicine stuff, it's a little too new agey for me. But his point was that they are sick

Emotion shapes the diffusion of moralized content in social networks
Significance Twitter and other social media platforms are believed to have altered the course of numerous historical events, from the Arab Spring to the US presidential election. Online social networks have become a ubiquitous medium for discussing moral and political ideas. Nevertheless, the field of moral psychology has yet to investigate why some moral and political ideas spread more widely than others. Using a large sample of social media communications concerning polarizing issues in public policy debates (gun control, same-sex marriage, climate change), we found that the presence of moral-emotional language in political messages substantially increases their diffusion within (and less so between) ideological group boundaries. These findings offer insights into how moral ideas spread within networks during real political discussion.

Ethan Gutierrez

Abstract Political debate concerning moralized issues is increasingly common in online social networks. However, moral psychology has yet to incorporate the study of social networks to investigate processes by which some moral ideas spread more rapidly or broadly than others. Here, we show that the expression of moral emotion is key for the spread of moral and political ideas in online social networks, a process we call “moral contagion.” Using a large sample of social media communications about three polarizing moral/political issues (n = 563,312), we observed that the presence of moral-emotional words in messages increased their diffusion by a factor of 20% for each additional word. Furthermore, we found that moral contagion was bounded by group membership; moral-emotional language increased diffusion more strongly within liberal and conservative networks, and less between them. Our results highlight the importance of emotion in the social transmission of moral ideas and also demonstrate the utility of social network methods for studying morality. These findings offer insights into how people are exposed to moral and political ideas through social networks, thus expanding models of social influence and group polarization as people become increasingly immersed in social media networks.
It's yin. Yin is the female energy (the blue color likewise represents this). Yang is masculine/red/conservative.
Problem: all solutions require both. the people in the two 'sides' nowadays don't seem to recognize this little tidbit of Natural Law.
Eli Thompson
So to translate it for laymen:
Psychology hasn't yet tried to figure out why some topics become more viral than others. So they carried out a study using a lot of social media posts to find out why.
In this study they found that posts with heated language and emotional appeals gained a lot more traction within their respective idealogical bubbles (coservative or liberal) than posts that didn't have these words.
----
My issue: These paragraphs don't explain that liberal bubbles share emotional posts more than conservative bubbles. OP can you comment on this?
Jaxson Rogers
problem is, it's unavoidable in the long run, and it'll continue to shape society, whether you like it or not
Jaxon Taylor
>attack >bad >blame >care >destroy >fight >hate >kill >murder >peace >safe >shame >terrorism >war >wrong someone make a political tweet using all of these words and lets see how much it spreads.
Bentley Scott
All solutions require both but it seems that we are way too unbalanced as a society, and maybe as individuals, towards Yin.
>Natural Law What did you mean by this and where can I go to learn more?
James Roberts
One of the benefits to being autistic is that bullshit emotional words like this don't cause the same effect bleeding-heart propagandists expect them to.
Jackson Jackson
Well what do you know, this website has a yin/yang symbol on the homepage. Looks like I was going in the correct direction by bringing up those words. Gonna take some time and read this site a bit.
Daniel Watson
The shills set the argument from both sides, then get the profane goy to argue among themselves. They also use confederates to guide group discourse, to try to make people say more extreme stuff, or to become more polarized. This is dark occult magic. Divide and rule.
Bentley James
Natural Law is the set of laws the universe is ordered by, like the Law of Polarity or the Law of Gender (not LGBT related). My personal recommended source is Mark Passio. His many talks are on YouTube. He's brusque, but he doesn't fuck around with making you feel good, he has info to pass out.
Be warned, it's occult. And he'll take great pains to explain why what people think of when they think of that word is completely wrong.
I agree completely we're too unbalanced. Law of Polarity is one of the big ones, and the agenda to corrupt femininity is reaching it's climax. We can't afford for that to happen any more.
Julian Russell

well over the 140 character limit as well.

The hilarious part is that a Republican think tank DESIGNED Obamacare. I see no reason not to ban politics completely and just start hiring administrative subordinates and treat them like the desk-jockey sons-of-bitches they are.
Anthony Ortiz
I'm already planning to not pay too much attention to the evolutionary side of it. I think that there might be more at play than just that. But the core idea of the divide between liberals and conservatives and the fact that there is a biological basis for it seems valuable.

Awesome, thanks for the recommendation. Will check it out.

No. Not at all. You avoid emotional content and focus on things that make liberals psychologically uncomfortable. getting emotional is what they want. avoid emotions and focus on cold hard plainly delivered reason and facts. thats what really drives them wild (and also from one of the links here) for shits and giggles figure out small subtle ways to include dogwhistles. apparently they hear insults no one else hears and it sets them off in a rant.
Benjamin Rodriguez
like this? it was hilarious how triggered they were. they kept telling each other to just ignore user. its weird how they assume everyone who dislike queers is christian.
Matthew Jones
Next: Do a study to tell us that people think water is wet.
All this to point out that buzzword appeal to emotion pandering headlines work as clickb8.
Xavier Long
Okay, if you had read the six-page PDF yourself, you'd notice that this particular study finds that (in their terms) in-group retweets always increase when there's a moral-emotional word, both for libshits and conservatives. Then they say that libshits are more likely to retweet a message from a conservative user.
Me, I think this is more about the semantics of the message and less about emotion per se, seeing how the study admits that in one case (global warming) it was negative emotional words that increased the retweets and in another case it was positive words (faggot marriage). Either way it shouldn't matter because social media is literal shit.
All in all this is the kind of circle-jerking academic bullshit that I've grown to hate so much, and I don't think this has any application outside of the jews perfecting the art of controlling the masses even more with this cool new tool of social media.
