I live in Arizona and they can bill you up to 80k for a scorpion antivenom (anascorp) here, a thing which costs 100 bucks in Mexico. Only a retard or a literal kike medical shill would defend that.

Mexico has better healthcare than we do. Americans regularly partake in medical tourism to get costly surgeries in Mexico. Let that sink in.

Who is "they?"

Let's be honest, Warren Buffett only supports single payer because it makes no difference to him either way.

Because of health insurance. That's why costs of medical services are so high. It is a middleman that inflates costs.

-Because the party being charged for care is not the individual, it is a corporation, hospitals can charge whatever they want. $50,000 for a 1 hour long outpatient procedure? Individual patients couldn't afford that, but Insurance Corp. can. So why not charge it?
-Health insurance eventually began to like this price gouging. Because it means now that no individuals can afford services, they MUST purchase into the health insurance racket to receive health care. Almost nobody can afford a $90,000 surgery (which used to be $9,000).
-Health insurance corps are now a middleman in EVERYTHING. You can no longer just go to a doctor and purchase a service that costs $1,000. Because the hospital is not charging you, they are charging your insurance provider, which means filing a claim, which means a huge overhead of time completing a bunch of paperwork and followup. Hospital has to expend twice as much energy just to provide and charge for the same service, so they have to increase the price of the service. That $1,000 service now costs $1,600 for the convenience of the hospital billing your insurance provider instead of you. You feel relief because your bank account didn't take a $1,600 hit that month, but instead you just pay $800 in premiums every single month, so you lose money in the long run but if you're an idiot you feel like you saved money. The service should've only cost $1,000 in the first place.

Let's be honest, Rockefellr/Nixon only supports for-profit healthcare because it makes no difference to him either way.

The concept goes back to at least 1970, when the conservative Heritage Foundation proposed an individual mandate as an alternative to single-payer health care.[118] It was championed for a time by conservative economists and Republican senators as a market-based approach to healthcare

The 1993 Republican alternative, introduced by Senator John Chafee as the Health Equity and Access Reform Today Act, contained a "universal coverage" requirement with a penalty for noncompliance—an individual mandate—as well as subsidies to be used in state-based 'purchasing groups'.[124] Advocates for the 1993 bill included prominent Republicans such as Senators Orrin Hatch, Chuck Grassley, Bob Bennett and Kit Bond

After the 2016 election of Donald Trump as U.S. President, Heritage Foundation played a major role in shaping his transition team

>religion destroys morals
Kike detected, into the gas chamers you go.

It makes no difference to him, so why would he lie? Fact is it's true. Single payer means we stop with this bullshit of allowing poor peoples diseases progress to emergencies before doctors are obliged to render treatment, which makes everything more expensive for all of us.

If you still have the money to afford private doctors you can do whatever you want.

Did you know that before 1973 it was illegal in the US to profit off of health care. The Health Maintenance Organization Act of 1973 passed by Nixon changed everything

>the law Nixon mandated also included clauses that encouraged medical providers to not CURE afflictions, but to PROLONG them by only treating the symptoms. There’s no money to be made in CURING sickness.

Is the health insurance business a racket? Yes, literally. And this is why the shameless pandering to robber baron corporations posing as “health providers” is such an egregious … and obvious … tactic to do nothing more than plump up insurance company profits.

the downfall of the American health insurance system falls squarely on the shoulders of former President Richard M. Nixon.

In 1973, Nixon did a personal favor for his friend and campaign financier, Edgar Kaiser, then president and chairman of Kaiser-Permanente. Nixon signed into law, the Health Maintenance Organization Act of 1973, in which medical insurance agencies, hospitals, clinics and even doctors, could begin functioning as for-profit business entities instead of the service organizations they were intended to be

en.wikisource.org/wiki/Transcript_of_taped_conversation_between_President_Richard_Nixon_and_John_D._Ehrlichman_(1971)_that_led_to_the_HMO_act_of_1973:

Americans will never accept single payer while 13% of the population are a dead weight.

The healthcare system is the ONLY industry that gets huge benefits from centralization thanks to the huge saves of centralized buying programs.
Private healthcare only benefits six figures salary families and has retarded inefficiencies

that's why Buffet advocating single-payer is impartial and unbiased

half of emuland is on the dole and still has efficient single payer

I think if true competition were happening between hospitals, that price would be WAY down. But the reuglations and monopoly by the American Medical Association and others is too powerful so they can corner the market.

For e.g. if one hospital was ovffering antivenom for 80k but then a nearby hospital said fuck it we'll do it for 40, what do you think would happen?

more like chris Edgy am i right?

You miss the part where the hospital overcharge to pay for their new $10m doodad of the year. We pretty much pay for medical progress around the world

I'm not opposed to single payer on principle but we have a great example to look at when it comes to 100% government provided healthcare in the US with the VA and their reputation is less than sterling. I'd have to be seriously convinced the US government is up to the task of creating a sustainable single payer system that would deliver at least reasonable quality care without either digging a massive financial hole for people 50 years down the road or importing third world doctors to prop up a system that was built to fail from the start.

...

The idea that the burgers have a free market in healthcare is dodgy claim also burger guys have more regulations written than we do. Prime example of corporatism.

so govt creates this problem and you want the govt to fix it? Really?

>ingle payer means we stop with this bullshit of allowing poor peoples diseases progress to emergencies before doctors are obliged to render treatment, which makes everything more expensive for all of us.

and welfare will end poverty? ha

Single payer mean more savages will have kids and the middle class will be fucked again

I have you liberal faggots sooo much

*hate

Great. When Warren Buffet knows as much about healthcare economics, sociology, policy, and technology as I do, I'll look to him for an opinion.

Until then, he's wrong

Maybe you can get Stephen Hawking to weigh in too? That will surely settle the debate

It honestly doesnt make sence to me that Sup Forums claims to want a better and more civilized society but you actively want 3rd world shithole health care and quality of life, and murder based on superstition ect.

I want to live non degenerately among other Europeans and stop WG but god damn, the average Sup Forums Users ideal society is pretty much a shithole african country with a white paint job. Dont you people have any standards? Any dignity or self respect? Dont you want to elevate humanity to a slightly higher existance than before? Id rather die than see European society regress into pseudoShitskin tier with people dying for no reason left and right, power and dignity acumulating with some dictator while European people toil in squalor burning themselves out for nothing

no, retard
Rockefeller, Nixon and the moloch mafia hijacked healthcare and LEGALIZED for-profit BUSINESS known as HMO
read the thread turd

Imagine America is actually a gigantic open-air prison with a fairly intricate network of directed energy weapons deployed to pacify the American people.

US has always looked like a developing country. The way they use propaganda to only show more affluent parts of their cities reminds me of North Korea. Don't get me wrong there is a lot of money being made in the US but you can bet it isn't being spent on infrastructure or anything else. It's a total shit hole.

If it's single payer socialist healthcare it means it is NATIONALIZED by the government. I.e. no dirty oligarch run businesses to make money. Profit is irrelevant. This is why healthcare is cheaper everywhere else lad, the government doesn't need to profit off of surgeries and the like.

You end up paying less in a universal system because in an insurance based system each individual insurance company needs to hedge themselves against those conditions, raising insurance costs for every layer, but since each pool is split up between all the companies, it's more expensive overall.

Is there a reason why being rich makes you an expert in fucking everything? I don't blame Buffett, I blame burgers blinded by his wealth for asking him.

evil bastard.
socialized medicine does not work. ass hole.

government is not efficient, not productive, wasteful, incompetent, slow moving, corrupt., etc.

>government is not efficient, not productive, wasteful, incompetent, slow moving, corrupt
and enron, Lehman Brothers, AIG, big pharma, bear sterns is?

Most of America is atheist. When you're atheist, money becomes your false god. People like Buffett are like prophets to them.

you left out Fannie Mae and Freddie mac, the companies that started the mess, and those companies were GSE's - government sponsored entities.
These companies aren't around anymore, because a free market weeds them out. Government simply taxes and borrows and inflates when it fucks up, and usually it never admits it fucked up, and keeps fucking up forever. That's what socialism is - government fucking up a market indefinitely until it collapses.

All our tax dollars go towards fighting wars for Israel. The fact that we don't have free health care and free tuition to universities in this country is a scam. I'm not even proposing a new health care bill that will hike up our taxes even more, I'm saying we should already be enjoying these things. Our tax dollars are being robbed by foreigners.

Good old warren

>> ”There’s class warfare, all right, but it’s my class, the rich class, that’s making war, and we’re winning.”

this

>implying mega corps arent gses
get a load of this retard

its 3rd world

How is it health reform if people are losing healthcare coverage?

Don't be surprised if Buffet dies of (((natural causes))) in the next few days.

Chris Hedges is a serial plagiarist.

Is there a reason why being loser makes you an expert in fucking everything? I don't blame poorfags, I blame retards blinded by your autism for believing you.

Isn't Buffett the cunt who keeps saying taxes on the rich need to be massively raised but also refuses to pay the tax he claims he wants until he's forced to?

Warren Buffett Gives Away Another $2.8 Billion to Charity
fortune.com/2016/07/14/warren-buffett-gates-foundation-charity

Charity is not taxes, in fact it helps you avoid taxes.

no the govt code is in place that charity is deductible

some nations dont offer charity as deductible

govt is now a proxy for oligarchs who run your for-profit "healthcare" system

forcing them to submit to pre-Nixon free non-profit healthcare is a step towards freedumbs

when your father is congressman, it's not hard to become a "self made" billionaire that lives "frugally"

It definitely affects him. Not his personal healthcare, but the economy in which he has a huge stake in

This is because our government has assured the insurance companies that they will use taxpayer dollars to bail them out if any debt. Why wouldn't you overcharge if that was the case? Just imagine how much hospitals will charge if single-payer was ever implemented.

do you actually think the buffet gates foundation is about charity? are you one of those bleeding heart leftists that hates the rich but clings onto everyword the pop start billionaires say? you have any idea how fucking stupid you are?

and who is
>our government
?

the Rockefellers and the oligarchs who setup the for-profit healthcare system in 1970s

yep

burgers dont realise that their govt has been under an oligarch coup
Maj.-Gen. Smedley Butler was approached by a wealthy and secretive group of industrialists and bankers, including Prescott Bush, George W Bush's grandfather, who asked Smedley Butler to command a 500,000 strong rogue army of veterans that would help stage a coup to topple then President Franklin Delano Roosevelt." The plan was to assassinate Roosevelt if he resisted.
"The conspirators were operating under the umbrella of a front group ( financial backers) called the American Liberty League, which included many families that are still household names today, including Heinz, Colgate, Birds Eye and General Motors, (including Prescott Bush) ."

thomhartmann.com/users/zapdam/blog/2016/10/american-liberty-league

>Chris Hedges
>millionaire "socialist" scumbag

Ask yourself, who runs govt?
Ask yourself, who runs corporations?

then ask yourself, who runs the world?

then youll find your answer.

Tell you what single payeris a lot better than Obamacare or the new proposed replacement bill. It's still worse than a free market system but better than your current monstrous clusterfuck.

really tickles my pickle

Don't lump doctors with those scum, most are good people.

>Religion destroys morals

How? If anything modern America shows that religion enforces morals. America has never been more detached from religion and more degenerate.

He wouldn't be pushing for it if it didn't make him money.

>A single-payer program is "the best system for US" Buffett said Monday
he's right!

He's right though.
There should only be one party paying for your healthcare, you.

After Trumpcare passes and eventually fails, single payer is the only thing left. Fuck it. Its better for small businesses not having to deal with the administrative overhead, and there will be less demand for bullshit HR jobs with Gender Studies degrees, I'm okay with that.

Hospitals used to be nonprofits until 1980 or so.

>America has never been more detached from religion and more degenerate.
its the safest time to be alive in the US right now, crime is at an all time low. but muh fags right?

healthcare costs go nuts right when hospitals are allowed to be for-profit

durrrrrrrrrrr

The US does not have enough doctors for a single payer system. It isn't doctors that are destroying health but insurance companies, in other words more lawyers and accountants.

Chris Hedges is a dum-dum who thinks we're all equal.

NO ONE DESERVES SHIT

YOU HAVE TO FUCKING FIGHT EVER INCH OF THE WAY

Q.E.D.

there is a concerted effort by American health insurance companies to keep things the way they are. They make billions every year by commoditizing the nation's wellbeing.

Oh, and they're trying to get a foothold in the UK and dismantle the NHS, too. Good luck fending them off.

inews.co.uk/essentials/news/health/act-now-nhs-will-insurance-based-system-within-10-years-warns-doctor-resigned-live-tv/

>safest time to be alive in the US
>with nigger riots going on weekly
lol look at this fucking commie faggot and laugh

Also the insane amount of do-nothing administrators at hospitals, the do-nothing boar members, the profit-taking, the extortion of sick people for profit, the medical coding system for billing the insurance companies, etc etc etc. Its a gigantic clusterfuck and the slate needs to be cleaned.

>destory
Not my stories.

I'm fine with single payer healthcare if there is an option to opt out. I'm not going to pay for the millions of obese/ smokers/ faggots cutting their dicks.

Private consultancy firms have been central to the coalition government’s plans to carve up the National Health Service (NHS). One service they provide is supposed “consultation” processes, which end up concocting a financial case for the closure and privatisation of swathes of the NHS and handing it over to their clients in the private sector. They reap rich rewards themselves for services rendered.
A particular favourite in the coalition government’s designs is the United States-based global management consulting firm McKinsey & Company, Inc.

"In Duff McDonald's comprehensive new history of the consultancy firm McKinsey, also tantalisingly called The Firm, there is no such messy reckoning for the company at the heart of the story, nor any criminality. McKinsey plainly isn't the mafia, but a central question is nevertheless posed by Mr McDonald's book: how do these guys keep getting away with it?

McKinsey's fingerprints can be found at the scene of some of the most spectacular corporate and financial debacles of recent decades. The energy-trading firm Enron was the creation of Jeff Skilling, a proud McKinsey consultant of 21 years. But this wasn't guilt by association. Enron, under Mr Skilling, was paying McKinsey $10m (£6m) a year for advice. McKinsey fully endorsed the dubious accounting methods that caused the company to implode in 2001.

The consultancy also advised virtually all of the Wall Street banks in the unprecedented credit boom of the past decade. Its consultants, as Mr McDonald chronicles, actively promoted the securitisation of mortgage assets, the practice that poisoned the global financial system and precipitated the 2008 credit meltdown.

The firm also encouraged the banks to fund their balance sheets with debt, driving down their equity safety buffers in order to juice profits.

...

(((health insurance))) who are (((they))) really?

the CEO of united health group is typically the person with the highest amount compensation in the US each year
you can look up full compensation of public company execs on forbes database and this dude makes like $120 million PER YEAR

>Ehrlichman, Kaiser, Nixon, Rokefeller

en.wikisource.org/wiki/Transcript_of_taped_conversation_between_President_Richard_Nixon_and_John_D._Ehrlichman_(1971)_that_led_to_the_HMO_act_of_1973:

Ehrlichman: “This … this is a …”

Ehrlichman: “… private enterprise one.”

President Nixon: “Well, that appeals to me.”

Ehrlichman: “Edgar Kaiser is running his Permanente deal for profit. And the reason that he can … the reason he can do it … I had Edgar Kaiser come in … talk to me about this and I went into it in some depth. All the incentives are toward less medical care, because …”

Ehrlichman: “… the less care they give them, the more money they make.”

President Nixon: “Fine.”

Ehrlichman: [Unclear] “… and the incentives run the right way.”

President Nixon: “Not bad.”

Just a reminder, Single-payer healthcare will be the US government paying health insurers to pay for medical care. 80+% of Americans get their healthcare payed for by employer sponsored plans and virtually all of them like the coverage they have. The politics won't allow big change that scares everyone, so the compromise will undoubtedly involve the current crop of insurance companies on the user facing end.

>only thing left is single payer

Or, fee for service. We have car insurance for loss of property. However, you pay the market rate when you need new spark plugs. Why can't people just pay for what they use? Basically all of the fat unhealthy people with beatis want to pay the same (if at all) as the healthy people who take care of themselves and rarely need a doctor.

>single payer healthcare for a borderless nation of mostly obese people

What could go wrong

In 1980-1990, healtchare spending in the US was equal to Europe today.
1980s US was not a single payer system
You can't only look at cross sectional analysis, you have to consider time series dataa.

Actually direct pay would be the best system, but for some reason we have to have ((( insurance )))

(((Ehrlichman)))
Every. Single. Time.

America is already too nonwhite for single payer to work. Just look at California, they were going to try it until they realize there aren't enough whites left in California for it to work.

Kaiser, Ehrlichman, Nixon and other Rockefeller agents devised legalising for-profit healthcare in the 1970s.

The federal government was slow to issue regulations and certify plans until 1977, when HMOs began to grow rapidly. By 1982, US had the most expensive healthcare spending in the entire world ( )

America's fucked.

Funny thing is Warren Buffet is not a doctor or in the medical field. Why should his opinion matter?

>impartial and unbiased
That's right, but it's not the point. If a person was accused of murdering someone in which his conviction would affect several people in some way, but someone completely unaffected by the conviction and unfamiliar with the case says he's guily, it means nothing since they aren't familiar with the case.

He shills for larger government because he and the other billionaires like bezos would be in the inner party in a socialist government. These fags can't just be content with being rich, they want to rule.

>Mexico has better healthcare than we do. Americans regularly partake in medical tourism to get costly surgeries in Mexico. Let that sink in.
This is the biggest load of shit I've heard any one say. Anyone that actually believes this is an idiot.

and neither is the guy who devised today's for-profit healthcare, Kaiser, an uneducated construction worker

is Nixon, Rockefeller, Kaiser, Ehrlichman more qualified for healthcare?

Yes. He wants the other rich guys to have to pay it too. Otherwise, donating it to the government is just another charitable tax deduction.

due to vested deep state corporate interests any attempt at universal, affordable healthcare in burgerland is sabotaged and destroyed

many states have passed laws for single-payer and all failed to implement the laws due to the deep state

>Massachusetts passed a universal healthcare program in 1986, but deep state sabotage resulted in its repeal before the legislation could be enacted

>New York State has been attempting passage of the New York Health Act, which would establish a statewide single-payer health plan, since 1992. The New York Health Act passed the Assembly three times: once in 1992 and again in 2015 and 2016, but did not advance through the Senate after referrals to the Health Committee.

>California attempted passage of a single-payer bill as early as 1994,[62] and the first successful passages of legislation through the California State Legislature, SB 840 or "The California Universal Healthcare Act" (authored by Sheila Kuehl), occurred in 2006 and again in 2008.[63] Both times, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger vetoed the bill

In 2009, the Hawaii state legislature passed a single-payer healthcare bill that was vetoed by Republican Governor Linda Lingle. While the veto was overridden by the legislature, the bill was not implemented

>Vermont canceled its plan for single-payer health care

>The Minnesota Health Act passed to establish a statewide single-payer health plan but was

this is exactly like the Streetcar scandal that saw Oil/Automobile cartels destroy public transport in US, except this involves healthcare

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Motors_streetcar_conspiracy

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfred_P._Sloan#Streetcar_scandal

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_General_Motors#Nazi_collaboration

Sloan is credited with establishing the concept of planned obsolescence.

>In the early 1900s, General Motors' long-time president, Alfred P. Sloan, Jr., began implementing a plan to expand auto sales and maximize profits by eliminating streetcars.
>In 1922, Sloan established a special unit within GM that was charged with, among other things, the task of replacing the United States' electric railways with cars, trucks, and buses. Consumers who no longer had the option of taking the streetcar turned first to the bus lines and, eventually, to owning and driving their own automobiles.

no public transport because car companies bribed government officials in the 40s and 50s to plan cities without public transport oriented towards cars ie us suburbia

public transport was sabotaged to steer the flock towards car/oil
