He drove Higgins boats dropping troops on the beach at Normandy, then was responsible for Naval transports all around the world for years after the war. He even spent time in Germany, and went through a deep depression after seeing what we had done to Europe, and how communism replaced what we had defeated. I grew up with the same propaganda as everyone else, but hearing my grandfather say "we fought the wrong enemy" dropped a bomb on my world. I'm grateful that he was brave enough to be honest and redpill me that way; he was risking having me hate him, but he told me the truth. I owe him a lot. I also inherited his books, including the Patton papers.
