A lot of the code is that "drag and drop" code or a sheet telling them what to do step by step. They don't throw them in a room with python and Java and have them make shit from scratch.

Your completely right, however you don't get taught to explore these frameworks and they infinite possibilites they have. When you use specific parts of them in different ways. You get taught to follow predefined patterns in a way that anything outside of them is literally uncomprehensible.
I'm not just spewing this shit out of my ass either, I may not have finished college but I put enough years and money into it. I have taken many CSCI classes for programming and been disappointed in all of them, even the Professors I have talked to say their courses are bullshit. However to teach someone to properly code in a fluid way takes way to much time, it's simply easier to teach people to be IO machines without any deviation.
Sorry bruh but that's just wrong, OOP is very powerful but you can't teach someone all of it in a few years. So you graduate from college only knowing about half of what your toolkit does. It's like being a mechanic who doesn't know the importance of proper torque
