How do you feel about the Minimum Wage?

Should it be raised? Abolished? State by state?

Will it hasten automation? Will low skill workers have 0 opportunities in a couple of decades?

It's gonna take a college degree to get a minimum wage job to pay off the student loans.

Raising the minimum wage to such an unrealistic figure will decrease overall productivity even further and that hurts competitiveness. It's just simple math.

If on the other hand someone should regulate the housing market and -- God forbid -- do something against soaring rents and realty prices, a raised minimum wage might become unnecessary.

It only delays the inevitable.
It's one of the ideas how to keep poor useless idiots from rioting until they can be phased out completely.

Useless people will become more useless, minimum wage keeps those useless people who manage to get a job from hunger riots. Without it idiots will riot before ((they)) can automate everything from manual labor to security forces.

Then minimum wage will drop to 0.
Then all the unprivileged will starve and die.
Then those privileged enough to be born into rich families will live in an automated utopia.

The future if bright for the human race. Just not for most of you faggots.

Only other way I can see is either some kind of radical socialism feeding people no matter what. But this would need a strong police state like government enforcing it and keeping all you faggots down while also fed. Which is stupid.

Better just let you fail in rigged sample and blame you.

Where do you still need low skilled workers? I mean in a post-industrial western country? Manufacture is outsourced to China or so highly specialized, you can't use unskilled workers. Agriculture is mechanized. That pretty much only leaves delivery boys and busboys. But they have to speak and read the language.

So why oh why has this simple truth not filtered through to the developing countries? To the shitholes that still send millions of their zero talent shitskins in the grand delusion, they could somehow through washing dishes become millionaires.

Honestly, these people only aggravate the situation. It is high time the West rethink their immigration laws and put a stop to this before it gets too ugly. Hell, I'd even be sending millions of them back!

Ma'a salama, Ahmed, fun time is over. Adios, Jose, have fun in your own country.

Only way for you faggots and your family to have any chance of a future is to become not useless. Better be entertaining to ((them)), married to ((them)), useful to ((them)) or in any other way not useless to ((them)).

Retards bargaining themselves out of a job, while making shit even more expensive for themselves when they're out on their ass.

Minimum wage isn't the issue. Abundance of labor is. You can jack up the minimum wage all you want but all it will do is temporarily disrupt the free market equilibrium before evening itself back out and then everyone is in the same position as before.

To be honest, I am starting to wonder if minimum wage is turning into a political media talking point more than an actual issue. Sort of like gay marriage or trans rights or whatever the fuck. Just meaningless trivial social non-issues to keep the peasants occupied while the wealthy keep getting wealthier.

Anyways, as a warehouse owner, enough of an increase in minimum wage would just force me to outsource my labor to fulfillment companies. The governor here recently proposed a bill where business owners need to pay into a pot ($2000 per worker annually) to help fund the state sponsored healthcare. Every single employee would be fired overnight if this were to be approved. if you want the honest truth, labor is currently not even worth the federal minimum wage of $7.50 or whatever the fuck it is. It's worth far less and companies would pay less if they could and the scary part is people would accept less too. So don't be surprised when shit gets fucked up when you deviate so far from reality.

Say hello to the $10 California burger.
Now with customary tipping in all California fast food restaurants.

won't illegals just get more work now?
i don't like the idea of minimum wage but only if the government don't subsidse the externalised costs of a business, such as paying enough your employees can get shelter, food, water and have kids.

It's a godsend for illegal immigrants because legal workers (like, you know, citizens) won't be able to compete.

>BUT JUST GO TO A FOUR-YEAR COLLEGE AND GET A PROFESSIONAL JOB PAYING > $70K user

kek you just be me to it Employers try to get out of it by hiring a bunch of part-time employees instead of a few full-time employees, etc. Their accountants are just doing their jobs.

LA loves illegal immigrants because of La Raza and all that, so I wouldn't be surprised if they're trying to help them.

The answer is less immigration. This law exists because there are so many people now, that businesses can get the pick of the litter. Essentially devaluing workers pay. Stop all the illeagle and mass immigration, and set the minimum at like $9. You'll see a big economic change for the better.

This one gets it.
Through globalization, we also have to regard labour costs as globalized. I.e. why should a Californian earn $12 for packing crates if a Mexican does it for $3 or whatever? Sure, certain services have to be performed in place, but the global level of wages still exerts pressure.

Germany went through that. Chancellor Schröder said you can't do without globalization and drastically slashed workers' rights. That lead to people being fired and rehired with less pay and under worse conditions. But in the end it's what kept Germany afloat and ahead of the EU competition. (With those many eastern poorfag countries that had joined recently.)

Bottom line is: If the productivity doesn't match the costs, the wages have to go lower.

A minimum wage would literally be a non-issue if the government were not involved in a massive scam to concentrate wealth through inflation. Once you understand the role of the Federal Reserve, retarded half-measures like the minimum fucking wage will seem like a drop in the bucket to you. You will realize how stupid and ignorant you were of the true depths of the depravity of government.

Here's a hint: Is there ANY mainstream candidate (that includes Bernie Sanders) advocating X? If so, it isn't a threat to the establishment or corporations. You have to look at what they silence, what they fear being discussed to know what actually threatens their control of you, and that is two things: White Identity and Naming the Fed.

What wealth are you talking about?
The US has literally lived on credit for decades! Your productivity never even came close to what you consumed. You are indebted for generations to come.

You're lucky the rest of the world still believes you're a "wealthy" nation, or the US dollar would plummet so far most of you would have to walk to work.

Anyone with a basic understanding of macroeconomics knows that raising the minimum wage will only increase unemployment.

Minimum wage is only good in places that can afford it. Forcing a $15 an hour wage in rural California is very different than enforcing that only in cities.

Your nation is no different. All Western nations barring maybe Switzerland are financially stable.

Price ceilings and rent controls don't work my senpai
Haven't you taken a basic Econ class

Minimum wage should be relative to inflation however the sheer supply of labor fucks the economics of it up since working age people who aren't students and old people are eating those jobs up because we have too many fucking people in general.
Look at living standards, GINI ratio, any reliable statistic regarding wage to price imbalance and you'll see that it got marginally worse since thr 1970s when the West started to bring in more cheap Asian and African laborers and their families en masse. Our population growth is unsustainable and we need to stop immigration before it's too late. If it keeps up past the boomers dying then we're fucked.

americans have the majority of bitcoin
China has more people with it, but they are forever playing carch up

>Cost of living keeps going up
>NOOOO KEEP WAGES THE SAME.

I am wholly ignorant of whether minimum wage is good. I have no idea what data there is out there that may indicate what effects it may have.

Just as speculation, minimum wage seems like a terrible idea. Why should we artificially inflate the price of labor? But are there any better alternatives? Either you replace minimum wage with something like a basic income, or you just let people starve. Neither seems like a superior option.

The only reasons rent and housing are so expensive is because boomers are treating houses as an investment to retire on and the ZOG government is letting foreigners buy new houses and let them sit empty. You need to change your flag if you're not really natsoc, price controls on essentials are critical to the natsoc model.
