This video is one of the reasons I highly dislike Ben Shapiro. Now, it's from 2016 and I've heard he's changed his view on Trump since then (hypocritical considering his criticisms in this video are largely levied at Trump's views now differing from views he had a decade or two decades ago)
So, in this video Shapiro attempts to frame Trump as a disingenuous liar, but in attempting to do so exposes himself as disingenuous himself. He cites views that Trump had in 2000 and 2004 as being different from views he has now. He cited Trump's support for Obama's stimulus package in 2010 as a flip flop, despite the fact that Trump is and always has been a Centrist economically, even supporting such things now as an infrastructure stimulus package.
He tries to paint Trump's support for universal healthcare in other countries as evidence that Trump does not oppose Obamacare...As if those two things are at all related. You can be opposed to Obamacare and yet still be in favour of universal healthcare. I know because I'm one of them. He stated during the Republican debates that he still likes the idea, but it's unworkable with $20 trillion in debt and a massive bureaucracy,
At one point in the video, he even tried to paint Trump as not being an actual Christian because Trump has strip clubs in his casinos and has a promiscuous past with women....Except for the fact that Trump has never claimed to be a Fundamentalist. He is a Christian. That doesn't mean he has to take up Christian morality 100%, just as I doubt Shapiro takes up Jewish morality 100%.
He acts as if one can't change their views ever, especially over such long periods of time. Guess what? The views I have now aren't even remotely close to the views I held two years ago. Does that mean I'm lying about the views I have now? Of course not.
