Democracy works when its scope is reduced. A democracy in a city-state will serve its intended purpose. A democracy at state level will only serve idiotic goals.

Yeah you are right - if V4 stops the rot they are fine, but for us: we are done for. The only way we have out of this is a war or massive economic meltdown. Degeneracy has reached peak for us. Democracy may work only in very small environments when constantly applied. Voting once per 4 years is no democracy, especially when it comes to 2 party systems who actively import voters to guarantee they have the upper hand, if their pre-existing propaganda doesn't work.
The original term of 'democracy' refers to the people (demos) being the one in rule (crato). The term is raped through every orifice and they keep the word only for appearances since it has a lot of 'nice morality' on its back.
