I remember in years 7-11 I realised that it's actually very easy to steal food from the school and keep the money for yourself.
We used to have a group of 10-15 boys and we'd scout out the dinner hall for any dinner ladies or teachers or anyone who might snitch. Then one or two boys would create a distraction by spilling a drink or screaming like a retard for no reason. Then we'd rob the sandwiches off the trolleys and stuff them in our bags or under our shirts and trousers. Did the same thing to steal dinner trays in the winter so we could slash down the hills. If we ever got caught we'd just deny it indefinitely and we promised to never snitch on anyone. Was very exiting I felt like I was in the mafia.
Meanwhile, the same schools probably don't allow children to bring lunches from home, citing some bullshit reason like it will allow kids to be singled out, or they can't ensure the lunches students will bring are as "healthy" and "nutritious" as ones the schools provide.

Children should not be "branded" for not having money for school lunches, and on top of that schools shouldn't be charging for school lunches either considering that they are funded by the state which is funded by our tax payers and considering also that our farming system is super subsidized there is no reason a child under the age of 18 shouldn't be able to get a free lunch at a public school.
