That's still capitalism

>Lets you buy things with other things

Sounds like capitalism but without taxes.

fpbp

>let's go back to a barter economy guise!

Fucking hell

>exchanging services without using currency
oy vey

Looks like a successful app owned by a private business.

> comparing a $25 cut to a troubleshooting session and possible expensive part replacement

If the motherboard is dead, that better be credit for 30 haircuts

Bartering isn't against the rules of capitalism. It's against the rules of the government you fucking absolute retard.

Bartering is good between a couple individuals but you shouldn't base a whole economy off it desu

Nice app though might use it.

Isn't bartering still capitalism
Jesus christ I thought hipsters watched star trek

>I need my website up and running for the year with ecommerce
>I need a slab of gourmet beer
See how this isn't going to work? That first one costs thousands of dollars to properly design something business worthy and the second is about a hundred dollars.

We can keep going.

If by "laptop fixed" it means installing something, fine. If it actually means "i need new consumables" then it's not fucking worth a haircut.

Dumb
Fuck
Marxists

Oh but what if I need a haircut but can't fix laptops? Maybe instead I could fix cars for someone else and earn tokens and then trade those tokens for other services. Maybe we could call the tokens "dollars".

>barter isn't capitalism
Wat. This is just another means of exchange. It's still capitalism. In fact it's more free market than the regular monetary system.

Boy, look at all these great services on the front page. This site will definitely take off.

You can't trade weed or blowsjobs though and as we all know those are the real economic drivers of any barter economy.

>a "socialist" website system designed by a capitalist for the purpose of profit
Brilliant

Came here to post this.

no one will take take the barter if it's not worth it dumbass.

In what fucking universe is a dead mobo worth $750?

Reminder that the Unite States requires each of those people to pay taxes on the estimated value of the goods and services recieved.

Stop right the fuck now

Someone buy me this and I'll pay you back in rare pepes.

youtube.com/watch?v=KAExa9P7hME

I can't see why people shouldn't be able to exchange goods and services directly. Of course the government is going to muscle in since it can't tax barter exchanges.

I never knew capitalism was denying me a personal hummus consultant.

You idjut

hahaha

>barter economy

Wew, going back to the good old days of tribalism, are we? Sure reminds me of my country 10 years ago.

That's still capitalism...

Friendly reminder that FUCK THE FEDS BRING IT IN BITCHES ENJOY MY 1ST

This type of bartering system is not viable in a world that has grown so large and interconnected.

I need a blowjob.
>I need my butt fucked

its going to devolve into this in about 2 weeks

the charge out rate BEFORE even finding the issue is gonna be like 100 bucks
in what universe is that equivalent to a haircut?

Barter is still taxed. You can only deduction things you spend money on, not your time.

D2jsp is a site that had hundreds of thousands of users simply because trading in Diablo 2 was such a nightmare. People would buy and trade forum gold to do stuff like sticky posts as a proxy for cash.

Even this is better than trying to trade.

So what are you going to barter that's worth at least 400$, which is the minimal for hosting, equipment and labor for a ecommerce platform (even then it's only fit for small businesses)?

Seriously, what service could anyone provide that's worth 400$ besides legal, medical or prostitution?

See how this is a dumb system if the service you provide is skilled? It's an almost deliberate slap in the face of people who actually invested in their future.

There is not barter worth it you fucking lunatic. These can only ever be bad deals.

You're an optimistic leaf. I respect that. I give it a few days.
I want to shit post I need my lawn mowed I have cash.

...

in this universe where people can't be trusted to adequately judge the value of something on their own and who will always show bias towards their own needs.

>Perform hours of maintenance on a $500 computer
>Slice a few hairs off with scissors in 30 minutes
>This is somehow equal

O I AM LAFFIN

>a system where there is no value in rarity or demand
sounds gay

we should probably institute a minimum barter value, so the monocle-wearing barterers dont take advantage of tattooed hipster barterers. and we'll allow illegal barterers safe passage at the same time

Dumb fuck libs trying to be quirky

how would you tax something like this. uncle sam needs his cut.

Prostitution APP.
Plain as fucking day. Or pottery or whatever it is you Sup Forumstards prefer.

I know someone that charges $500 for hair, but hair looks amazing

>basic blog software that tells you how to do everything
>''''''''''senior web developer''''''''''

Jesus Christ.

Min wage will be set of sorts. I assume ie you're work is 10/hr to fix a computer.

Least my guess. Well I more so see this failing awfully.

I like this idea so I took a look at their site.

The people want my time as a computer expert in exchange for some petty shit.

It could cost hundreds of dollars in parts, and several hours to fix a computer, not to mention new software or time to image and restore large hard drives.

What are people willing to offer me for that?

A tarot card art ( not even the cards), writing tutor, lessons about shit...

People expect hardware and licenses from me in exchange for shit with no direct value.

I could fix computers all year and make almost no real money, food, or services in my life. Jesus, I can't even find a real Estate Agent on here.

Looks like working for a rich asshole has it's benefits, and those benefits are worth about exactly $90k a year to me. You can't beat that with free tarrot card readings and SEO lessons.

I thought people wopuld do shit like, build a wooden table and ask you to do electrical work. Apparently only liberals know about the site so it's all worthless shit people want to trade for real services.

Like someone is on there asking for a $5k surround sound system and is willing to trade short stories for it. Yeah, that's worth a used Polk Lsim 707 5.1 system.

Well, so much for this. People better start offering me real shit or they can fuck right off. Looks like lots of liberals way overvaluing their own bullshit.

>5s, 10s, 20s
without reading up on this, it looks like they literally just made their own currency. let's see if it sells

I like this idea but I'd imagine it would be hard to always match up two people who are able to offer exactly what the other wants. Maybe they could add an arbitrary item with a set value that everyone would accept and we would just barter those instead?

this would make an ideal society, al the useless shit would cease to exist.

>I need a car
>I need a haircut

What now bitch? Do I get 2000 haircuts for free?

>1000 word short story

Nigga that's 2 pages ain't no short story it's a fucking prologue

So how did you get a laptop?

How much sugar cane can i get in trade for these?

>I need an essay of the problematic white western colonization of science
Said no one ever

Muh free market

Guys...its a fucking sex app.
"Buy me lunch or bring me over for a movie and Ill fuck you"
Thats where the app will bring in traffic and thats where theyll make their money

you realize money merely represents a medium of exchange of goods/services.

The US dollar is the equivalent of Simbi. You're not doing away with mutually beneficial trading (i.e. capitalism), but just giving it another medium

I assume the one on the far left is a woman. But with these people you can't always determine which is which.

Where does it say it's a sex app?

>a $25 haircut for a $100 motherboard?
>How can you expect me to accept a $20 service for a $200 piece of equipment?
>I mean really, you're going to have to do better than $15 for this fine 500$ machine
>okay goyim, I'll take your $10 haircut for free for the rest of my life and I'll generously give you $1000 worth of my time and hardware

This.
Perhaps they could use a token system to represent the relative values of goods and services offered, thus ensuring the trading of goods and services is fairer?

>simbi.com
>Website that comes from Capitalism

youre probably right in some sense.

yeah, and what id wonder as well is how the hell do refunds or rating systems work with this shit? i mean, if i dont receive an item i bought from ebay, its fairly straightforward what happens

...But less practical

That's literally what they do.

Where does it "read" sex app. Nowhere. Thats not how sex apps work.
Look at what Craigs list was all about, did it ever say craigs sex list?

>Centrally planned prices
Epistemologically impossible.

To be fair being good at Wordpress means you can quickly piece together a site that meets the typical demands of most clients. But also fuck her for calling that development and not gadgeteering.

>Simbi raises $1.2 million to make bartering services easy online

>barter

Seriously. Just wait until it gets flooded with " full body massages" for a home cooked meal and all that

Bartering quickly loses it's appeal when it creates a record that can easily be accused by the IRS

That's still capitalism.

This is fucking retarded
What if the hairdresser does not need anything fixed? What if the bricklayer needs food but the house owner has none extra available? What if the farmer needs a tractor but the tractor owner doesn't need the food?

This is why we have tokens of value

People? who said they were people
this is clearly farm equipment.

Underrated

People think this is a new idea. If you honestly haven't out smarted the IRS yet you deserve to be poor

this

>Woman repairing laptop
>Indian cutting hair

Pretty sure this would be in reverse

this

Also, I guarantee they develop their own currency within 1 year.

>Have very specific skill you're good at
>No food producers or food owners need your skills
>Die of starvation
If only there was a way to convert your labor into universally accepted value.

1) Bartering is still capitalism
2) There is too much crap, not enough useful services. 90% of the stuff are luxury items. People with limited cash don't need some artsy thing. They need practical services like car repair, not a fancy deck of cards.
3) Terrible filters that say very little. The location service doesn't even work properly. No way to filter based on content. This exaggerates the problems of point 2.
4) Prices are all over the map. It is clear that none of the people on the site have any business experience. It is also clear that they think way too highly of themselves. A lot of the business on there need a reality check. Because prices vary too much it is hard to get appropriate prices for a lot of the services. This makes filtering through content even worse.

Until the site improves its basic functionality the site is not worth the effort to use.

>farm equipment
That was literally the greatest mistake in US history.
Fucking lazy rebels shouldve picked their own fucking cotton. Now look at our nation...

if this were to be hacked, i could literally have people slave away for me in exchange for a valueless "currency"

LOL what the fUCk Maximum Retard mode Activated

How will bankers collect interest?!

See

>agreeing to fix someone's laptop for a haircut

You don't have to do it for free anymore

Oy VEY! shut it DOWN!

>this dude doesn't castrate his farm equipment
Get a load of this guy, only a sloven moron yokel wouldn't sterilize them, imagine the consequences.

So... it's not even bartering anymore, it's straight up capitalism. What's the fucking point? These losers could just offer their services for a real currency and actually make something of themselves, unless of course nothing they offer has any value and people are in it purely for its novelty, in which case it won't survive more than a year.

Can you hire a hitman through the site? I need a ""fascist"" wacked.

if i had an llc, id honestly try to exchange phase i esas for services, primarily car repairs. but whatever, its another half-assed commie scheme

So it's basically a less secure Bitcoin?

1. Barter is still capitalism.
2. How will you pay taxes?

I am the best computer repairman in my province!
but nobody who makes food needs their computer repaired
whoops im dead
