It's also odd that Trump's position on these things has been remarkably stable for the last year while he has changed positions on literally everything else.

I am actually starting to believe Trump might to some very real extent either be being blackmailed so badly that he takes orders from Putin on some issues, or he has agreed to some sort of extremely lucrative and explicit quid pro quo, the fact of which he knows can be used to blackmail him if he fails.
