Fusion GPS was initially funded by anti-Trump Republicans. Pro-Hillary Dems weren't involved until Republicans ceased funding after Trump won the nominee. Trump wasn't the presumed nominee until late May \ early June, and not officially the nominee until July.

The FBI investigation into Russian collusion and the spike in communications between the Trump campaign and Russia did not start until Summer, ie right around the time this meeting occurred.
You do not need an a priori assumption that Trump is guilty to be swayed by the mountain of stories suggesting he and members of his campaign are. You need an a priori assumption that he's *not* in order to contort your mental faculties in such a way to think there's "nothing there."
