Yes, pretty much. They are at 7% and falling. Nobody wants to do a coalition with them and polls show they are dangerously close to get to the 5% "not even in parliament" threshold. I predict in the next weeks we will see a consistent 6% polling for the AfD... and with the election campaign going full on Merkel vs. Schulz in September, they might poll at 5%. not so much because AfD supporters vote for someone else, but because they just lose interest and do not vote at all.

Believe it or not, the Democratic Party still has a few centrists. But every European nation has Communists, Socialists and Greens. They have a major presence in Austria, Germany, Sweden, France. Italy, etc. I don't get it.

They say "having a nation and borders is 20th century" - they believe in having no nation, but some kind of international one Earth state in which everyone can freely move whereever he or she wants to. Being forced into a 2-party-system by your voting mechanics can be good and bad. Coalitions will always be less effective at initiating change but a 1-party-rule will always bring a different package of problems with it. If Germany had the same system as Japan they would never have the smallest chance of removing Merkel ever.
