It's like an american with a poster that says "Area 51". That doesn't make him a high-level government employee that hides aliens. He could be a random bloke that finds the idea interesting and bought/found one item that relates to it. Likewise, your granpa could have found the pin in a garage sale for all we know. If your granpa was seriously invested in aylien cult shit then you'll find more than a tiny pin with a funny symbol.
