Great record

>Could you imagine a world without net neutrality?

Yeah, we're living it. Sell your volcano insurance to someone else. All the commie multinational corporations like google, facebook and lefty meme sites like reddit are it's main supporters. Yes, commies, tell me more about how you're going to "save me" from something that doesn't exist. Please, go ahead and take my internet - I trust you reddit.

So pissed off at this fucking flaming faggotry that I want to kill myself

you are an uneducated faggot. your loss

Roughly translated from globalist memespeak, this means, "You are not a communist shitlicker, fuck you. Get back in the bucket with the rest of the boiling crabs"

I don't trust you, commie.

Great album, at the time I didn't think they were gay, just British.

>I want ISP companies fucking my boipussy meanwhile they censor Sup Forums :^)

I WANT THE FCC TO TAKE CONTROL OF INTERNET CONTENT AND MAKE SURE I'M PROTECTED FROM HAVING WRONG THOUGHTS

ITT idiots that don't realize the net worked just fine before muh nut neutrality government meddling.

best track is King's Cross

Net Neutrality doesn't exist and never has. If ISP's wanted to do things like "throttle or remove Sup Forums", and other dumb shit like that - then they can, as there is literally nothing stopping them from doing so. You know who does that kind of thing with alarming regularity? Multinational corporations like Google & Facebook, who also acquiesce censorship requests from dictatorships to conceal information on government networks. All of these corporations and their meme subsidiaries and butt buddies are huge supporters of "net neutrality".

Daily reminder that at the end of his second term, Obama handed ICANN to the United Nations.

Not an argument kike. I will not be buying your "internet packages" either.

What are you talking about? Before Title II was implemented in 2015 the internet was LITERALLY HITLER.

>sit down and put $1 of quarters in my PC to boot it up

>y-yes

>turn off my PC
>sit down on my couch to watch Netflix
>try to watch Passion of the Christ
>the liberals are blocking it
>SWAT team raids my house for viewing anti-semitic content
Such was life back then. We can't go back to those days.

I'll stop supporting net neutrality when regional monopolies on internet service aren't a thing.

where else could you find a group of people so vehemently against free speech on a website built on the concept of upholding it?

you implied Sup Forums couldn't exist without net neutrality. But here's the thing, net neutrality doesn't exist - it is merely a proposal

kys jew slimeball

I'll be honest, I'm not sure who I distrust more:
>the people supporting net neutrality (google, reddit, etc)
>ISPs with regional monopolies on service
I'm having a hard time finding information on the subject from non-biased sources, I really have no idea what to think about this one.

Kek.

>people will stop watching porn online and browse degenerate websites that dulls the mind like Sup Forums/reddit/any other shitty blog

Tell me why I should be for Net Neutrality.

if you're wondering what ISPs will do if net neutrality is repealed, we already know.

2005 - Madison River Communications was blocking VOIP services. The FCC put a stop to it. cnet.com/news/telco-agrees-to-stop-blocking-voip-calls/

2005 - Comcast was denying access to p2p services without notifying customers.

2007-2009 - AT&T was having Skype and other VOIPs blocked because they didn't like there was competition for their cellphones. fortune.com/2009/04/03/group-asks-fcc-to-probe-iphone-skype-restrictions/

That's thanks to government regulations as well. The new regulations are to negate the regulations they already have in place.

>The use of scrapers, bots, or other automated posting or downloading scripts is prohibited. Users may also not post from proxies, VPNs, or Tor exit nodes.

Sup Forums.org/rules#global14

As much as I am against the government having more say in what the ISPs can and cannot do, I am still for net neutrality.

With ISPs having regional monopolies parts of the country, and with a history as this post details , I simply can't trust that ISPs have it out for my best interests.

If ISPs didn't have a monopoly I would be against net neutrality.

This so much. I have no clue on the issue and every source is biased. One argument is that people want netflix etc to pay their "fair share" the cost of the das they use, but doesn't NN mandate that they pay a consistent amount anyway? Comcast is allowed to jack up prices, just not jack up Netflix's price per bit per sec more than any other company. What is wrong with that? Honest question.

B-BUT THINK ABOUT CORPORATIONS!! PEOPLE USE TOO MUCH BANDWIDTH!! FREE REEE!!!!

enjoy having your infrastructure consistently under attack, dumbasses

I havn't heard a single argument against NN that has swayed me. The hardline stance that regulation=bad is absurd. Ideally we wouldn't have regional monopolies in the first place, but a band-aid is still a band-aid. NN doesn't prevent us from removing the government control that supports these monopolies, and it does reduce monopoly bullshit tactics in the meantime.

and the only people that post these threads are newfag shills. ya ya we get it this is your job. but you arent fooling anyone and I hope you have to live in some slum in india due to the ridiculously low wages they pay you.

So... why allow a government which changes every 4-8 years(let alone, a government agency that can be changed at one's whim), to dictate what "neutrality" is?

no it started to fuck up and thats why we grassrooted net neutrality into existence. It needs to stay or the internet will just be another cable box of approved garbage with no actual information or substance. Also forget making websites anymore. you will only be able to post your thoughts and ideas to places that are unapologetic-ally censored.

Is there even a reason to support it?

where were all these people when we were bringing this into existence now all of sudden they spout some bullshit opposite day nonsense and make fun of people at a hipster convention for not knowing what it is.

Since it already doesn't exist, and it hasn't existed for the entirety of it's life, no. But what I don't support is ANY government putting their grubby jew fingers in it under the banner of "neutrality", and believe me, those companies that worship net neutrality violate it every single chance they get when a government puts a few dollars in their pocket. They're as full of shit as the "let's let the government dictate net neutrality" movement.

net neutrality was created to keep big media from gobbling the internet up. but its pretty much owned by 5 companies right now anyway. well of course except for all the cool shit corporations dont fuck with because its not profitable. Most of you come from reddit now so this doesnt sound like such a bad idea. well you are fools and want to stifle the little guy to give 3 giant cable companies all the power. people in america dont get options for internet because the fucking cable companies ate up the subsidies and didnt build new infrastructure like they should have. you see they are already fucking us as it is.

what the fuck is your IQ? Net Neutrality is just a name, it's not the actual policy. The actual policy is preventing ISP's from selectively modifying traffic and encouraging a "dumb line". As in, traffic is just traffic and no one fucks with it.

the law is already in place. you have no idea what you are talking about.

Test complete, report any discrepancies to user.

The faces change but the department heads stay.

Missed your argument there friendo.

Yes, I'm from Reddit. We love NN over there (it's almost universally supported on every subreddit) and are here to warn you kids about what things were like when we were growing up.

So, NN keeps companies from paying more to have faster access or what?

there is merit in keeping the internet working as a "dumb line", since corporate ownership of the internet would be just as bad as government ownership of it. Net Neutrality does not give the government very much regulatory power at all, but it stifles corporate telecom power over the internet.

overall it's a good tradeoff as the regulatory power the government gains from this is worth a lot less than the power ISP's wield. Many on here would say "well we had net neutrality before and nothing happened" and they're not wrong, but we're in an age where our Telecoms like Time Warner and Comcast own significant portions of the media and are vastly more powerful than they've ever been.

Yes, NN ensures that Netflix and www.ilovemypoodle.blogspot are given equal bandwidth for the same price.
What I was talking about earlier. NN is huge with us at Reddit.

What does Net Neutrality do to stop that?

why are you responding to the troll?

PSB are based. No homo

ISPs don't have a monopoly anymore in many places. The only reason they ever had one in the first place was because of cronyism in local and state governments. If you don't like your ISP, switch to another one. Or start your own.

How the fuck do you trust your cable provider so implicitly, when you can't even get one of them on the fucking phone for tech support?

The only faggots who think net neutrality is bullshit, are the faggots who think the GOP actually gives a shit about their problems instead of giving tax cuts to their friends. Your cable provider will be able to sell YOUR data to anyone it fucking wants to, including the NSA or the cops. They'll be able to control data traffic from certain sites (that'll pay them handsomely for the privilege), and they'll be able to filter search results of the companies that don't pay them.

I wish I had that kind of inherent trust from the dumb masses. I'd make a fucking fortune controlling what sites they had access to and forcing them to see only the search results that paid me that day.

shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill shill

>1 post by this ID

>getting upset at something that potentially could, but almost certainly would not happen if regulations were lifted

Boy, Reddit is stupid.

there are very few places that have two cable companies what are you talking about? unless you are talking about dsl which is pretty much inferior no matter what you do.

Hello fellow Redditpede

>dumb people are still too smart to trust you
Wew lad

Too smart, or too dumb to realize who they're placing their trust in?

You're not trusting the government to know whats best for you. You're trusting Comcast and Time Warner to not censor the data you have access to. You're trusting a corporation not to fuck you over. How stupid do you have to be, to have NOT learned better by now?
>after the great recession and everything
t. the literal 12 year old too young to remember what corporations did to this fucking country when we "trusted" them.

So what happens when all the vidya man children want to look in to their favorite games and can't because NN makes it equal even under high usage?

They have you to blame. If a company wants to pay more and can afford to do so to make their services available to their customers what's the big deal. Seems like capitalism at work... Oh wait...

Fiber is available in most major cities and is expanding aggressively. DSL sucks, but it is competition. LTE and other cellular plans are viable, community WiFi is catching on, satellite is available if desperate. Just because you hate Comcast doesn't mean you need to regulate them and it definitely doesn't mean you are beholden to them.

The Internet is a luxury. Not a utility. Giving the FCC control over Internet content is a gateway to the FCC regulating what is and isn't allowed. Under Obama NN rules, there were already politicians and pundits talking about expanding FCC control to banning piracy, pornography and obscenity.

So you going to tell us who's paying you to shill this crap or are you just going to be a ponce?

I already warned everyone what the internet was like before Title II was put in place . I don't know why you're so angry, but it might be related to your micropenis.

>i like to go against the most popular opinion because i'm le edgy meme xDDD

Why not? Microsoft did it to Minecraft within one fucking year of getting their hands on it.

The one thing that nobody wanted.

Also the CAPATCHA was "jewelry" and i misread it as "jewry", kek

If a corporation fucks me over, I can stop giving them my money. If my government fucks me over...

Ask this vidya man child , I don't really know much about that topic.

Eat shit and die faggot
NET NEUTRALITY FOR ALL

Oh yeah. We're all going to stop giving our internet providers money, because we live lives where we don't need internet service for literally every fucking device in our houses.

One person not paying them will never fucking matter. "Vote with your $1" all you want, you're not going to make any kind of dent in their profit margin so they could give 2 shits about you, user Anonson, disagreeing with their policies enough to not pay your bill anymore.

Liberals take the simple approach to everything. Hearing them talk about climate change is pure mental gymnastics.

While we're on the topic of NN, what are we going to do about agricultural neutrality? I went into Kroger the other day and Kroger brand peanut butter was cheaper than Jif. Shouldn't they be the same price?
>peanut status: ACTIVATED

YOU have the power to switch ISPs. How the fuck are you on Sup Forums and you don't know the power of a group of individuals? And just because you have filled your life with "smart gadgets" that record your every minute and pack it into the cloud doesn't mean the government needs to step in to help you maintain your pathetic technoslave existence.

kek

I live in the middle of nowhere and have several options, non of which involves cucked cable companies.

eh, i'm neutral about it

>you have the power to switch ISPs
I literally don't. Optimum is the only ISP where I live.

and? it still stands that most places in america do not have comparable competing companies because they sell each other areas to monopolize.

Not really the same. The appropriate comparison would be charging you more if you wanted to buy it for the purpose of having your dog lick it off your balls, rather than putting it in a sandwich. Think if it like a water company charging more for watering your plants than flushing your toilet.

Then fight that. Net Neutrality does absolutely nothing to fix that.

Thanks OP, you really convinced me! I love comcast now!

>monopoly
You don't know jack shit about what you're talking about

no but it stops them from fucking around with the only real access to the internet which works fine. you see we already fought this. this was the result and now they are just trying to undermine everyone by removing the solution.
