Net Neutrality is the final step towards a 100% regulated internet

Yet how the fuck can nobody see it as this. Why is it that everyone sees it as some "Ooh evil big corporations want to spy on you and give you slow internet cuz it is cheaper" Even though that would make them lose business.

What are your thoughts and opinions on net neutrality, do you agree with me, the official pushed narrative or have some other view?

The internet is fine just as it is.

The fuck needs to be 'fixed' here?

1 out of 2,500+ ISPs in the USA did something we don't like 3 years ago, so let's just hand the internet over to (((bureaucrats))) who don't even know how it works. What could possibly go wrong?

it amazes me that the shills and spam bots that isp's have been pushing for the last little bit have actually tricked some people.

without net neutrality an isp can actually run an extortion game with every major website, if they don't pony up a fee the isp can make them have a "bandwidth accident" and cripple there business

I thought Trump wanted to move ISP regulation from the FCC to the FTC anyways.

Wanting net neutrality is some bluepill shit. You can easily identify the former CTR shills by the way they talk. If you actually voted Trump without reading all the fine print, then thank you for saving the world, but you have no right to complain about how he will go about it.

Stop fucking SHILLING you incredulous cunts. How the fuck can you not see that repealing net neutrality is bad?

Even back in the libertarian days of Sup Forums we supported net neutrality. There is nothing wrong with what we have now. Yes, there are monopolies, but how the fuck am I going to switch services in the next six months when time warner starts throttling my net?

this is exactly why the push NN so hard. not because it's "better for the internet", but because without NN ISPs can legally charge them for access to their networks. no company wants this. they'd rather us pony up the bills in data caps and rate hikes.

...

Also, see what nip-moot has to say right above your post. It enables an ISP to disable any website they damn well please. I can't wait to see your reactions when your favorite sites get either blocked or throttled.

These shills are unbelievable.

Because most of Sup Forums are contrarian autists that have to do the exact opposite of everything liberals do

>It enables an ISP to disable any website they damn well please.

BUTTTTTTTTTTTTT MUH FREEDOM

Think of it as water. You have a water bill. As it currently sits, you are charged a flat rate. You can use the water as you see fit so long as you can keep up on your payments.

Getting rid of NN, you are now being charged for how you use your water. Want to shower, that'll be $25 extra. Want to water your garden? Another $50 on top. Drinking the water?! $150. Don't forget the base monthly fee of $60.

Where is the stopping point for them? Sure, with such a move, you could see new ISPs pop up to provide services as it currently is right now, it's only a shame that all ISPs have legal monopolies over any given area.

Without net neutrality the Internet will become cable. Something compact would love and why they are fighting so hard because only boomers are still buying cable

I would wholeheartedly embrace free market internet if I had a slate of ISPs to choose from.

Sadly, for whatever reason, that is not the case. I'm stuck with Cuntcast. And as you can imagine, I'd prefer to fuck them as opposed to giving them what they want.

yeah and small business owners want to stop local mafia groups to stop demands for protection money, because they are doing it in self interest doesn't mean the correct thing to do is give a mafia the legal means to extort them. holding the correct position for a reason of self preservation does not make the position any less correct; with the internet on a only sites the pay get to play standard it will stagnate as no new site can come into prevalence without a massive financial backing. This destroys any even basic concept of a free market online, for a board so intent on supporting the free market you have all jumped on a bandwagon of letting a few corporations handpick who is and isn't allowed to join the biggest market there is

>The internet is fine just as it is.

Exactly. And what the internet 'is' or has de facto been since its inception, is neutral. Net neutrality isn't something we're trying to pass, it's something we're trying to preserve.

>be Ivan
>hundreds of ISPs in the country
>my shitty suburbian apartment building provides me a choice of over a dozen of ISPs
>pay $8/month for unlimited 100mbps + cable TV

>be burger
>have a great variety of choice between connecting to Comcast or not having Web access at all
>expensive and unstable
>soon to be paying extra for accessing certain websites
>land of the free

F-fuckin-P-fuckin-B-fuckin-P
FUCK AMERICA, THEY FUCK UP EVERYTHING, THE CUNTS.

But don't worry, new water services are going to pop up so the free market will take care of all the problems

That tiered internet shit was just one idea being tossed around. Sure, it would be legal, but probably not something most companies would bother with. It's mostly reposted as much as it is for a quick scare tactic because the actual issues with net neutrality take much longer to explain.

It's similar to how Sup Forums would hammer on the "Hillary is dying" point during the election, because people don't want to sit and listen to an explanation about the countless other points against her. Telling people she was unhealthy was easy to understand in a few words, so people actually listened to it.

>be Ivan
Literally be any non-English speaking country and ur internet will suddenly suck much less. It's almost strange. And now net neutrality is going away an its gonna suck even harder! Go burgers.

Honestly if net neutrality really does lead to this we can just remove it later.

I'd rather not give the jews the freedom to charge us 59.99 to use Sup Forums though.

But I pay my water bill based on usage. I pay comcast a flat fee and use as much as a please. The internet isn't just a big dump truck. It's a series of tubes!

>but its something most companies wouldn't bother with
How come exactly? It's free money for them, customers have no where else to go cause you fucked infrastructure in the 80s, and their customer satisfaction is already 0 so I doubt they would care. Give me one good reason why they wouldn't other than muhh free market wil fix

ISPs want to charge big content like Google, Netflix and Amazon for what it actually costs to stream and provide that content.

Big Content wants to push that cost on all consumers by forcing ISPs to charge their entire customer base for it. This essentially will mean that we as consumers end up paying more whether or not we use it.

Basically, it's a nothingburger for us and corporations would lose a pretty penny if this was passed.

this

Or we stop using big content providers.

I'M SO GLAD (((((((((((((TRUMP)))))))))))))) APPOINTED FORMER COMCAST EMPLOYEES TO THE FCC

THIS WILL SURLY MAKE THE INTERNET GREAT AGAIN

Haha, n-no way, he's (((ourguy))) haha, r-remember? Haha?

>I think Net Neutrality is a bad idea.

government is fucking retarded and them regulating something as chaotic as the internet is like the church trying to prevent everyone from masturbating

>ameritards actually are against Net Neutrality
>In the age of wireless almost ready
>they don't understand that this is a kickery to delay the free market action as far as possible

Sucks to be you, what can I have to say.

I hope the US government smashes net neutrality so all the filthy Americans are wiped off Sup Forums

Listen, net neutrality is great. Without it, things will be worse. But I voted for Trump because he will save the white race. I'm fine with the internet being a little worse if that is all it takes.

What would this entail if he did this?

jews are angry they wont be able to ban Sup Forums from the internet.

Jesus Christ, you guys are so obvious

Yes

>says the guy who lets unchecked numbers of syrians in his country.....

Without net neutrality Sup Forums dies

Yes, it was dead till BASED OBAMA signed in NN.

THANKS OBAMA!

I made the same calculation as you. But you know that without Net Neutrality sites like this would not exist and without sites like this, Trump would not even have been elected. It's a poison pill, but so was the other pill. This seems like the lesser poison, but woudn't it be great to just dodge this bullet completely?

If NN passes it means further regulations are gonna happen, with Jews taking even more.
If it fails, it means Jews in ISPs can legally block traffic to Sup Forums servers.

No matter what they win

you're more than welcome to create your own internet... wait aren't you guys already working on that?

Sup Forums wasnt a target until recently.

before now they were throttling netflix and other normie shit.

soon enough they limit Sup Forums to a 0 kbps connection.

>Fine as it is

Not when a few shitty companies hold a major monopoly and stamp out competition offering better service than almost no service.

and what the fuck has that got to do with you useless cunts voting in comcast-cock-sucking-cunts like Drumpf? Just ONE fucking thing that was alright, that worked, that was more or less immune to your BS - and, you couldn't fucking leave it alone, could you?

cunts.

1st option is their worst option.

its like saying the 1st amendment is a regulation, it is but its a win for us.

Enjoy Sup Forums while you can because they wont be around if nn gets repealed. You think this site has the money to fork over to some giant media conglomerate to stay alive? My freind you are sorely mistaken.

THIS IS SINGLE HANDEDLY THE MOST IMPORTANT POINT RETARDS

>Sup Forums becomes a target during Obama's administration
>Targeted by democrats

>Somehow NN, democrats love child, is saving us

For Americans.
Which is not a bad thing

>hate thinks they they throttled Netflix for the same reason they would throttle Sup Forums

Why are you idiots this retarded?

No. What will happen is that you will buy your shower spigot from your water service. Other brands of spigot will cost more or not deliver as much water.

Now here is where the analogy falls apart. The shower spigot is a physical thing. It's not exactly analogous to a channel with content. The content on a channel need be created once and then it cost nothing to deliver as many times as you want unlike a shower spigot which is a physical thing.

It's inefficient to develop the content more than once. So the ISP that can pay to produce the most content will drive the smaller providers out of business.

So the large ISPs drive independent content creators out of business by throttling them, and drive smaller ISPs out of business by having the largest content packages..

So there is LESS choice in ISPs not more without net neutrality.

Then how did it exist to begin with and continue to exist now?
>2017 trusting the government
Good got

>suddenly this is a problem to libs when it's not Obama's administration doing it

You pay based on the speed of your connection and your monthly download bandwidth.

If you use less (by not using streaming services) you pay less. It's simply a matter of choosing whichever plan matches the speed and data caps you need for what you use. People who use more bandwidth, pay more.

I don't see anything wrong with the system working like that.

Without net neutrality, the ISPs are able to threaten to shut down traffic to websites that can't or won't pay up.
>this is arguably a nothingburger

If ISPs just feel like pushing an agenda sometime (many are affiliated with news corporations, what makes you think they won't?), they can threaten to cut off traffic to the websites of detractors
>this is not a nothingburger

Honestly, if they wanted to charge off usage, businesses would be footing that expense supposedly. Since charging regular customers more would just lose customers, charging a business is more profitable

they fucked up, not our problem.

fuck off kike

Can anyone explain this thing to me? Today is the first time I heard of it, and I'm not a tech-guy.

>corporations will push an agenda without NN

>this is why we should give the AMERICAN FUCKING GOVERNMENT control

GENIUS

The flippidy flop psy-op tactic. You pathetic cunt.

jews want to charge 59.99 for Sup Forums access so Sup Forums cant make their girl hillary lose again.

>only rebuttal is calling someone a jew

>It's a series of tubes!
Jesus. It's been so long.

provide a source, redditor

you dont have an argument either.

they can and will throttle Sup Forums if they want to and that nose of yours only grows bigger when you lie.

WITHOUT UNLIMITED IMMMIGRATION WE WON'T HAVE ENOUGH PEOPLE TO SUSTAIN OUR ECONOMY

>It enables an ISP to disable any website they damn well please
Yeah, and the first time that happens that company is going to get fucked over so hard thanks to the court of public opinion, they'll reverse course, and no other company will do it again.

Are you so autistic you don't realize that people can still do stuff?

The choice is either being fucked by government or being fucked by ISPs. The difference is that people can do something about the latter, good luck with the former.

No it is not

Users can still freely post their thoughts without consequence, this must be stopped.

>they will do something they never threatened to even do!

Give me a source dumbass. Why do we seriously think Charter would be more likely to censor Sup Forums, than the fucking American government?

Oh, we don't, the share blue redditor shills are here in full force, pretending to be from Sup Forums

>nothingburger
kys

Can I get a quick rundown on this shit?

>Why do we seriously think Charter would be more likely to censor Sup Forums, than the fucking American government?
they throttled netflix you dumbass.

the government is forcing them to never throttle again, stay mad kike.

It's not control on behalf of the government, it's regulations to prevent corporations from doing what I described.

This.

>net neutrality is about regulating the internet
This is far from the truth and a made up story only republican shills are pushing. Do not fall for this tactic.

Hiroshima won't be able to pay the bills without ameritards clicking his porn ads.

WHO IS MORE LIKELY TO CENSOR Sup Forums:

>government
>your ISP

The slow blade penetrates. Throttling makes dissonant voices irrelevant. The unthrottled mainstream media puts people to sleep.

Obscure mostly irrelevant throttled websites eventually are by default disabled unless you manually re-enable them. Maybe for a fee.

Nobody objects when because of some 'bad things' done on the free internet if it's just outlawed. Nobody uses it anyway.

>Net Neutrality is repealed
>Facebook, YouTube, Reddit, all the big websites still ran by liberals
>They continue to do things they've done in the past, hide right wing comments, manipulate trending charts to favor left wing, globalist kike opinions
>"We're sorry, our packages do not currently support Sup Forums"
>Oh, just look at that, conveniently the major ISPs don't actually compete and encroach on each other's areas
>It's almost as if they're not actually competing with each other because if any one of them gets larger they risk being classified as a monopoly
>Right wing opinions disappear from internet because if anything the (((people))) in charge have shown this what they do
>No Trump ever happens again
>Information spread to combat the official narrative goes back to 90s level for opposition while they are still in 2017

Anyone arguing against net neutrality is nigger-tier and openly advocating for giving over more censorship power to the same fucking globalist kikes that pol fought last year to get Trump elected. This isn't about the government controlling and censoring the net. This about the government telling ISPS that they can't censor you.

Fucking this. I may not trust the gov't to not spy on me, but I SURE as shit do NOT trust some private company to not give me the run-a-round trying to do all the things I currently do.

pretty sure its that jewish ISP over there, do you really think we've forgotten all the bullshit comcast has done?

if you morons had played a bit nicer, 90% of the population wouldnt hate the ISP's more than the government.

sorry you lost again kike.

THEY THROTTLED NETFLIX BECAUSE OF THE AMOUNT OF BANDWIDTH THEY USED, NOT THEIR CONTENT. THEY SAID PAY US MORE OR NO MORE SHORTCUTS FOR YOUR SERVICE. IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH Sup Forums OR POLITICS.

YOU STUPID, IGNORANT, RETARDED PRICK.

FUCK.

t. government kike

You really use that much internet? Please, they're going to go after businesses first. They're the ones with the money and they essentially get charged the exact same as regular consumers, yet use hundreds of times the bandwidth.

I tend to agree.

I distrust big government more than corporations

>THEY THROTTLED NETFLIX BECAUSE OF THE AMOUNT OF BANDWIDTH THEY USED, NOT THEIR CONTENT.
good try shekelstein.

also, all caps is a sign of a shill whos bad at his job.

>You really use that much internet?
I use over several TB a month

FUCK. OFF.

This. What are you going to do if the federal government controls the internet through the FCC? Protest against the armed forces? Comcast has a fucking PR department with a couple of dotheads answering the phones.

Yes, because the American government isn't known for abusing their power and taking a mile when given an inch

>Nu-Sup Forums loves government now.

I don't trust the government to regulate ANYTHING. Give me a reason why I should trust them to regulate the Internet

First they get their cut. Then they go into providing content - maybe they buy netflix (for cheap now that they can't make a profit ) and throttle hulu.

Good

>oh no, I have argument, better just call him a kike. Those nazis on there love it! I win!
