When will the US military spending meme finally die?

US military spending was only 16% of the total 2015 budget, while welfare related spending was at least 60%

Military spending: 16% - 609.3 billion
Welfare spending: 60% - 2,327.5 billion

Are you nuts? Nations usually only spend about 2-4% on Military.

Look up discretionary spending.

We need to be the global empire of the world
If we cut spending than it leaves a power vacuum for Russia or China to takeover. Also we need to make sure the petrodollar policy is encforced by the barrel of a gun

Discretionary is only a small portion of the total spending. The only reason the military spending meme exists is because stupid people like you only show the discretionary spending.

If I was as dishonest as you, I could have chosen to show only mandatory spending. Instead I showed TOTAL spending to be honest. Pictures included next few posts to give everyone the TRUE picture.

Welfare spending means the money actually stays in the country though and keeps the economy ticking. They aren't spending $1.2 trillion dollars on twelve planes that will never be used before selling them to Israel at an 85% loss. They aren't doing that because that money isn't being spent on the military.

Yes, the US spends a lot proportionally, but even if you took away all the military budget, it would barely account for just half of social security/unemployment in one year.

The vast majority of taxes go to gibs me dat.

if we become national socialists do we just burn the waste?

>social security

this pie chart is pure nonsense

It's already over.... look up sdr's.
The reign of US global supremacy is over, federal reserve notes will be replaced by sdrs as a global reserve currency.
Jews found fertile grounds in China after they've spoilt American soil.

There's a lot of fat trimming that can be done across the board. Keep in mind those $1.2 trillion spending projects are done over long periods of time, it's not a one time purchase, it's included in the yearly budget.

What's your problem with it? The site the images are from are a left-leaning site.

>not spent on military
yes but it is being spent on the laughable VA and all the other benefits that military personnel receive

No, because that'd mean you're a socialist and if you're going to burn waste you'd start with the socialists because they produce nothing. Waste by definition.

You'd want to subsidise the waste, and call it stimulus.

You should look at the image first before expressing your crippled thoughts. Veterans benefits are included, at 6%.

4%*

The petrodollar is already on it's way out.

Is anything a waste of money if there's no limit to the amount of money in existence?

This is relative to how much tax revenue we bring in yearly you tard.

VS GDP, like everyone else, we're at about 3%

I personally wouldn't think so. If we can get to post-scarcity with infinite and easily accessible resources it wouldn't be much of a problem. Right now, that is a fantasy though. Until then, the reality of our world is that there are only finite resources.

>welfare keeps the economy ticking

>my house is on fire but at least it's warm

Finite resources already exist, finite dollars definitely don't exist

Right, I misread your question, I don't have an answer to your infinite money question. What would you say?

Like this blessed user said
Relative to GDP, the US spends 3.3% on military. Oman is the highest, at 13.7%. Even Colombia, of all countries, spend more then the US at 3.4%

Also Deus Vulting isn't cheap, takes more then brooms.

Military and defense industry spending create jobs. Welfare spending creates entitled niggers.

Hmm wonder which one I'm going for...

That is 2-4% of their nominal GDP, and since theirs is 19.1 trillion..

Up to 5% of mlitary spending is considered normal. Anything else is considered militarized economy which fucks up other sectors.

For instance, SU was spending 15% of its GDP in 80's to keep up with USA.

North Korea spends 7.5 billion $ in a 40 billion economy which makes it 19%.
