I agree that culturally we should get away from benign a drinking culture. However that logic should apply to everything in terms of liberty: we should discourage gayness but not punish/criminalize/harass. Instead we glorify gayness and degeneracy while others would be happy to criminalize it and any number of things. Social pressure goes a long way.
