I'm a little bit hesitant to read too much into those convenient coincidences. I'd been hearing buzz about such a thing existing for years, but only relatively recently people getting more specific about what it is and what to expect.

My take has been that the most sane advice has been in the form of "probably within your lifetime" and "well we don't know but if you want to get yourself in good position to ride out whatever happens then look into doing X, Y, and Z, all of which are good ideas anyway."
