Most majors are worthless now. But the main problem now in College is that it has become a diploma mill. Back then graduating college even with a "useless" degree was something.

I have about $314k up saved. Thing is, I hunt all my meat (stored in freezer and a few pounds converted in to jerky), grow a large subsistence garden in my grandparent's 11 acre property and have an extremely low cost of living (about $14k a year in expenses). I will also get a total of $230k+ in property in 3 States, $115k in funds (a small piece of a much larger fund, gotta share with my sister and cousins) and several local, long established (70+ years) businesses along with my younger family members (mostly cousins). This thing that boomers are a curse, is mostly a city issue. Here in small towns, that like to be self reliant, many stuff (vehicles, property, businesses, savings, guns, etc) is passed down generations.
A big issue I see too, is damn meme degrees that is blatantly, indentured servitude. I can't ever imagine how owing huge debt will ever feel. My sister and cousins also earn hefty incomes and save drastically.

If your parents or family are happy to put up with you, there is no shame in it at all. Almost everyone I know in London who has family here lives with their family, because why pay £150 a week for a crappy shared bathroom single room? I'm a millenial and cook 95% of my meals and am broke and have student debt. So are my friends apparently but they are constantly eating out and going to bars and complain about being broke. I really don't understand it. One friend of mine lives in a super nice apartment in probably the most desirable part of the city and she just got a new job with a pay downgrade but tells me how her and her boyfriend go to London and recently went to Hawaii for a wedding. It makes 0 sense to me.

I'd also wager the nice natural landscape is a massive bonus? That's what I miss the most from where I grew up in England and where I spent my teenage years, I love parts of London but I don't live anywhere near those parts. I'm in Wembley, which is currently in the middle stages of gentrification and construction so I'm sure it'll be a lot nicer in a decade but right now, like a lot of other parts which join major hubs it's trash.
