Scott Adams just beat the tarshit out of Sam Harris

On Harris's own podcast as well. Reduced him to a stuttering fool. Even Peterson couldn't put Harris on the defense like this, is Adams a god Sup Forums?

Explain, I find this hard to believe.

bump

The conversation was about Trump and Adams forced Harris to evade, switch topics, and constantly equivocate whenever Adams challenged him. I've never heard Harris get BTFO'd this badly before.

Just finished listening to it. Sam is an incredibly good debater, but Scott Adams just tore him a new one. I was really surprised. Sam sounded actually emotional at times.

btfo

Dilbertman is awesome, I like his books

Listening now. Harris even admits he got rekt in the intro. Can't wait to hear this commie kike break down

Will listen later.

seriously has anyone ever been so thoroghly btfo'd on any podcast

this was an intellectual manhandling.

Saving for future enjoyment.

>let me do all your thinking for you goy

this is literally all I can think whenever I hear Sam Harris talking

Listening now, never listened to any of Harris's work before but I respect Dilbertman's bants.

I have a decent idea of who Harris is and his views, but if you a few of you guys could give me a little tl;dr on how you see him I would appreciate it.

>I was really surprised. Sam sounded actually emotional at times.

Adams almost turned him into Affleck during the climate change segment. I don't even understand how Harris was that under-prepared during that part.

Scott Adams is very smart and incredibly persuasive. People should have expected this.

>if you a few of you guys could give me a little tl;dr on how you see him I would appreciate it.

one of the "new atheist, rational, skeptics". Somewhat moderate liberal as well. Honestly, not all bad, sees problems with Islam, agrees with IQ differences across racial lines, etc.

Also advocates for the disasterous policy of universal basic income. Also is Jewish

I can't stand Harris

feel like my brain is being shut down when I listen to his voice

I have never seen universal basic income fail.

I really want to like him. He's a smart guy and send like I could learn a lot from him. But I'm with you. He just loses me with his dumb rants

lmao holy shot Harris fans are seething. His twitter post where he linked the podcast is full of people shitting on Adams. This is truly disgusting. Fucking nuthugging faggots.

>expecting anything less from persuasion man

Sam Harris is a stupid tool who sniffs his own farts. Of course Scott would kick his shit in because Sam goes out of his way to avoid arguments with people he doesn't like.

>Trumpkins
Is this guy serious?

Yeee nigga I want ubi too bruh. Free money n shit. Makein cash from anutha nigga labor bruh. Fuck yeah free shit and weed bruh

I just want to see Adams and Dr. Peterson together for a discussion.

How do you call them?

You are correlating univerzal basic income with communism, but it's not the same, it's not central planning or expropiation, it's an idea they had it works, they also advocated for healthy eating while capitalism selled burgers, and we can see how that worked.

Terrible idea, Prices would increase and wages decrease, 3rd worlders will still have kids they can't pay for and demand even more gibs

There would be conditions for UBI retard. You'd have to pass drug tests and not commit crime.

>How do you call them?
Drumpfkins, of course.

Wages can't decrease that's the point, to set a point when you can't get paid less, good luck explaining your highly skilled workers that you are going to pay them less cause the commies implemented basic income.

Lol. I would have accepted true americans.

That would make sure that a criminal will relapse with a 100% certainty.
Harder to get a job with a criminal record and losing the free money everyone else gets? Yeah no one will recover if they can't get their free shekels back

How does he advocate for it though? I personally think it IS something we need to talk about especially if no one has the balls to speak about reducing the population or slowing down or even halting automation. The idea itself makes me a bit uneasy, but it's one part of a much larger conversation we need to have about how we see future western societies functioning.

One thing I wasn't sure of about him was his views towards Christianity. I know he's an atheist and sees some of the more obvious flaws with islam, but I'm not sure I know what his stance Christianity (especially cultural Christianity) is.

Thanks for the reply btw

...

Also revealed Harris to be a groupthink liberal.
Harris knows it.
Called the exchange "TRIGGERED"

>listens to Sam Harris' podcast

Only worth it for good guests, his slow talking is absolutely horrible

>I'm not sure I know what his stance Christianity (especially cultural Christianity) is.

He hates it and sees it as evil

pretty much, I'm honestly surprised Harris kept switching topics, only to keep getting BTFO. He had some opportunities, but Adams made him get emotional, and really fucked up his game

This is like on some C.S. Lewis shit, Harris will have to convert to Christ because the truth of Scott Adams was too strong.

>He's a smart guy
People always say this but he's always used his A game on easy targets. Obliterating some Islamist or feminist is satisfying but not that impressive.

Honestly people have probably killed themselves after lesser defeats. This was brutal. How can Sam even post this. I'd delete the files and rethink my life.

>He hates it and sees it as evil
Well that's a damn shame.

I can't help but think some people just have a few axes to grind and barely realise it. Whether it be mild rebellion against parents and authority figures from younger years, thinking that religion in general is stupid, blaming all the bad things in society (but not crediting the GOOD too) on it, seeing the 'delusion' or 'cognitive dissonance' present in some believers and being disgusted by it because they are otherwise rational etc etc.

I'm a strong atheist, but I've learnt to appreciate what Christianity helped wrought, as well as the fact that it did and has and continues to change with the times unlike many other (cough Islam cough) religions, and generally for the better. The core values (specifically those relating to community and family bonds) are still incredibly valuable, and I'm sad to see these things shat on by modern society.

That's what A game means.

>The core values (specifically those relating to community and family bonds) are still incredibly valuable, and I'm sad to see these things shat on by modern society.

That's Douglas Murray's opinion of it as well. Sam thinks of it as a cancer instead of something positive

His mom created Golden Girls

Did she really? Didn't know that.

25 minutes in and already adams lied (yes muslims were dancing on 9/11) and this harris guy is unable to grasp basic human behaviour, what a fucking dumbass

Harris is le Mind Rapey (((philosopher)))

just been listening to more of this thing. the kikes must be really scared of Trump... he's trying to mind rape his audience to hate trump at all costs

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Susan_Harris

Yup. Among many other shows.

Sam Harris is not a philosopher

>Sam Harris
>Jew
>tells you not to believe in Christ

He's still a Jew even if he tells you that he's an "atheist."

>I have never seen universal basic income

...

>I have never seen universal basic income fail.
>I have seen universal basic income

What the fuck is this fucking normie bullshit on my Sup Forums?

>automation takes over all labor by 2040
>are no actual jobs
>b-but socialism is why the mega rich shouldn't share their shekels... t-they worked hard for that money

lol k

You're very unperceptive.

Harris didn't come off great arguing with Jordan Peterson, either.

Generally I like Harris, although he has negative charisma like Jeb and all the personality of cold oatmeal. He's very strong when arguing against islam.

Adams is an interesting guy, I haven't taken in a ton of his content but he was on point about Trump from the beginning. I'm looking forward to this one, thanks for the heads up OP

>good luck explaining your highly skilled workers that you are going to pay them less cause the commies implemented basic income.
Then they would just cut workers or go out of business. UBI would necessarily creates a significantly higher unemployment rate, as well as price inflation of non-luxury goods.

Dude they've had 2 two hour podcasts together.

>You are correlating univerzal basic income with communism
what fucking post did you read? That never happened

A Jew could never be parted from his opinions.

At that time I was still childish enough to try to make the madness of their doctrine clear to them; in my little circle I talked my tongue sore and my throat hoarse, thinking I would inevitably succeed in convincing them how ruinous their Marxist madness was; but what I accomplished was often the opposite. It seemed as though their increased understanding of the destructive effects of Social Democratic theories and their results only reinforced their determination.

The more I argued with them, the better I came to know their dialectic. First they counted on the stupidity of their adversary, and then, when there was no other way out, they themselves simply played stupid. If all this didn't help, they pretended not to understand, or, if challenged, they changed the subject in a hurry, quoted platitudes which, if you accepted them, they immediately related to entirely different matters, and then, if again attacked, gave ground and pretended not to know exactly what you were talking about. Whenever you tried to attack one of these apostles, your hand closed on a jelly-like slime which divided up and poured through your fingers, but in the next moment collected again. But if you really struck one of these fellows so telling a blow that, observed by the audience, he couldn't help but agree, and if you believed that this had taken you at least one step forward, your amazement was great the next day. The Jew had not the slightest recollection of the day before, he rattled off his same old nonsense as though nothing at all had happened, and, if indignantly challenged, affected amazement; he couldn't remember a thing, except that he had proved the correctness of his assertions the previous day.

Sometimes I stood there thunderstruck.

I didn't know what to be more amazed at: the agility of their tongues or their virtuosity at lying.

This
Typical leddit

You can make a case that a stimulus package in the form of cutting everyone a one time cheque is better than giving it to banks. I agree.

That's not the same as a strong argument in favour of putting everyone on welfare in perpetuity.

>Harris didn't come off great arguing with Jordan Peterson, either.

Meh, even though I like Peterson more, Harris probably won on points. IDK, if he won the meta-narrative, but Harris did a good job a putting Peterson on the defensive and making him defend silly allegories. Adams stopped him from doing it and called out when Harris attempted it multiple times, making Harris look foolish. Peterson never did that.

For a smart man he's really stupid.

Rather point out that the 18-25 group was insanely liberal back in the 70s, yet now the same population is the wrinkled old conservatives "on the wrong side of history".

Maybe the "look how the youth is voting" argument is perpetually wrong because the voters themselves change? Go figure.

Even Sam (((Harris))) is weak to the master manipulator

I thought Harris came across as really dense for not understanding Petersons interpretation of "Truth" and constantly throwing insane hypotheticals at him.

Sam Harris prefaced the podcast with a cowardly disclaimer, "Maybe I was hyptnotised" Fucking pussy

Harris understood it, he just wanted to "win"

You're taking his post on face value AND as his only point.

He talks with scott for 2 hours? Someones got to condense this

>I thought Harris came across as really dense for not understanding Petersons interpretation of "Truth"
Agreed

>constantly throwing insane hypotheticals at him.
Peterson should've/could've put a stop to it, but didn't.

Is automation going to replace every single job?

Scott Adams and Jordan Peterson? or Jordan Peterson and Sam Harris?

Not Jordan and Sam, Jordan and scott

Fair point. He came across as an ass though IMO

>Peterson should've/could've put a stop to it, but didn't.

Yeah I barely made it through that podcast, it was a grind. Apparently the second one was better but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

sorry m8 i can't read. That would be a good one.

Reminder
>So, when we’re talking about the consequences of irrational beliefs based on scripture, the Jews are the least of the least offenders.
samharris.org/podcast/item/why-dont-i-criticize-israel

Good question. And the exact type we need to be asking of these people in power who have an influence on our futures.

We are way fucking behind the 8ball on this one. I mean for heaven's sake, they're talking about replacement migration at the same time they're talking about future automation and UBI. They are so dishonest and incompetent. I honestly don't think anyone knows, and they are preventing the conversation.

It won't. And live humans are going to need to build and maintain those automated systems. And some markets are so small that automation is prohibitively expensive.

There's actually a really funny post about the jobs of the automated future where they only career is a nightmare running from each automated line scrambling to fix break downs.

Yeah and what does growing older change about you?
You learn more.

>strong when arguing against islam

>people that literally want to conquer and destroy your people
>implying you need much of anything outside of a simple presentation of facts to come to the conclusion that islam is not compatible with the west

>treasonous level of fandom of Vladimir Putin
Sam Harris isn't THIS retarded is he

One hour into this and I'm amazed at how unself aware Harris is so far. He makes a point about Trump, Adamas counters, he equivicates that and discusses it momentarily, then jumps straight back into what he was saying before but even MORE emotionally while completely ignoring what he had just talked about with Adam's.

He seriously needs to go back and re listen to this.

>You're taking his post on face value

His post is whining about an age group. Literally not an argument plus an overused trope old people use when they complain.

>Yeah and what does growing older change about you?

If he was smart he'd go after the statistical problem with an earlier example to make people stop and think. Instead he does a common and dull whine about "young people sure are dumb".

This has never fucking worked to convince anyone.

>I have never seen universal basic income fail.
You will, soon.

youtu.be/0Z760XNy4VM

>His post is whining about an age group. Literally not an argument plus an overused trope old people use when they complain.

But what is the purpose of that post, how seriously does he stand behind it, and is there any other context he would add to it if challenged that he can't put in the original post (if he so wished)?

You're being quite uncharitable.

Harris has lived in the bubble for too long.

Sounds like Star Trek. Seriously.

bump

Yes he is. He also said that because people are talking about politics more means that Trump is toxic to society. This guys is genuinely fucking retarded. Textbook definition of a pseudointellectual

I hate sam, he is such a dumb fuck pertaining to politics.

Scott Adams is a based genius, plus has a smoking hot young girlfriend.

brobible.com/girls/article/scott-adams-girlfriend-kristina-basham-pics/

I think he's saying something with directly verbalizing it. He's saying that Trump is "toxic" to politics because it's leading to people discussing politics he doesn't agree with. The public discourse that he wants to dictate is changing and he's trying to convince people that it's a bad thing by using scary words.

The word "toxic" is generally used when someone wants to control the speech going back and forth and they accuse the people they want to control.

>Dilbert asks for evidence of how Trump's hyperbole have harmed society
> "Everybody is talking about politics now and that's a bad thing! btw I can list a hundred other things but this is only one I'm going to mention now"
I'm really surprised at Harris. He sounds like a fucking moron in this.

>Then they would just cut workers or go out of business.

Because they have to pay low level employees slightly more?

How do they CEOs feed their families then?

That not counting the fact that the goverment bails out big companies if they go wrong.

IKR? I'm also happy that Adams actually called out Harris's constant shifting and equivocating. It's still a little shocking how badly Harris performed, considering he debates for a living

Sam Harris was never smart. He's basically the dumbest of the atheist ecelbs after that pathetic banana rapist. People just fall for his Jewish tricks because they've been preconditioned to do so.

CONSIDER YOURSELF PERSUADED

It seems that the problem is just that you lack any sense of humor whatsoever. He was making a funny joke about how meaningless the quoted tweets grand claims about the 'future' were.
Your long-winded 'alternative' is just boring.
