>The Jerusalem Islamic Waqf announced Wednesday that all of the mosques in the capital will be closed on Friday in an effort to encourage worshipers to come pray at the gates of the Temple Mount, a move that could lead to more violent clashes.
>In addition to calls for a "day of rage," Fatah also declared that Friday prayers would be held in the main squares of major Palestinian cities and sermons would be dedicated to the Al Aqsa Mosque and rallying against Israeli security measures.
>Hamas is also preparing for a deterioration in the security situation, calling on the Palestinians to join the planned protest marches in the West Bank, Gaza and east Jerusalem on Friday after noon prayers.
1. It seems the SAAF has trouble maintaining aircraft or replacing losses, meaning the two dozen Russian aircraft at Hmeimim are disproportionately responsible for the air campaign.
2. Following from that, it implies the Shayrat strike has permanently crippled, at least for now, the strike capabilities of the air group there, as the plane and AA losses cannot be made up
3. The US has even more aircraft at even more bases than I thought. The Russians have basically poked their head into a hornet's nest of American aircraft, they have no ability to actually resist their air forces in the region. This is why the US can get away with shit like the Shayrat strike, because the Russians can only directly resist as an absolute last resort - because if the US doesn't back down from such a confrontation, that entire Russian force is 100% doomed.

Daily reminder:
>You're an idiot if you think Trump ending the CIA program in Syria is significant at all

A jihadi that got green bussed from Barzeh, kek
Christopher Green
Don't get me wrong, they should totally land grab using the SDF.
But the FSA meme has gone on long enough. It was past time they realized the whole thing was a failure and they were being useful idiots for Al Qaeda by continuing it. The Pentagon was always right about this.
Ethan Morgan
Heard reports of roaches actually going in personally and taking casualties. Looks like they will be going back to the old tactic: >Send meatshield moderates >Deploy spec ops to direct artillery and air strikes >Waste bombs and artillery shells on empty enemy positions >Be Turkish Forces >Let your proxy forces die in ambushes >Clean up with tanks >Tanks get rekt by ATGMs >Decide to just level the whole area with artillery and bombs >Send in proxies to check if it is safe >Own forces follow a few days later >Claim decisive turkish victory
this makes me so hard, I want some Bill Kristol tier neocon salt right now, r/politics will suffice

Hi /sg/, just dropping by to remind you guys that you were wrong the whole time and now you look like idiots.

You say that except those rebels are an absolute failure in every way, from being shit at governing to be shitty fighters altogether. Syrian Democratic Forces are basically the stuff of dreams for US operatives.
>U.S. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said Tuesday that America will continue to provide weapons to Syrian Kurdish fighters after the battle to oust Islamic State militants from Raqqa, Syria, is over.
Brayden Hill
It's really just a make nice and look good move For all practical purposes, the FSA elements can no longer offer any use to the US goals in Syria. It doesn't change the situation on the ground or the US drive to implement regime change with the goal of toppling Iran
What the fuck is wrong with these people? Really, what the fuck makes them such warmongers?

So is CIA stopping to arm coming from CIA or from Trump because he actually does what he said during campaign, or is this an obvious move to stop wasting money?
My personal guess is that they evaluated it is jsut a waste and they concentrate on SDF now.
How much is politics how much is budget?

50/50 politics and money
SDF will still be covered for now but it could end if Trump is held to the fire by his own support base.
Jonathan Russell
You're right. It was a bad move. We should continue arming rebel fighters. You win kike.

Question: I noticed anti-Kurd sentiment on here. Why SHOULDN'T the US be arming and assisting Kurdish fighters?
