I think this guy makes a fair point. Dixie has it's own heroes and symbols and doesn't just copy the Ulster Scots. New England, Deseret, even Cascadia are the same. The Midwest should recognize it's Germanic ancestry sure but I think you guys should take that as the chance to forge your own identity and symbols and build monuments to your own heroes.
