Multiple Gods claim to be the most powerful and they must have a trial of strength to show which one is true
Odin is the father of all of the Gods. He's worshiped by those in search of prestige, honor and nobility. He is not a jealous God, he honors any cultural belief system. It isn't only through him that you reach heaven. There is a whole pantheon of Gods to choose from, yet in no way does Odin demand absolute loyalty
While the Old Testament does not support the idea of an afterlife, the (Judeo-) Christian Church adopted the idea, somewhat because it was a common belief of the (((pagans))) it was trying to convert
The Church would allow any (((pagan))) custom as long as these (((pagans))) would recognize the supremacy of Jesus Christ as the head God, with the Pope as his agent on earth
I get it. Survival was at stake, it became more important than beliefs. Thus the unity that furthered survival and growth came to the fore. The foundation of the true religion was quickly abandoned when it was perceived to be counter-productive to survival at that time
However, things have changed. Jesus cannot save us. Christianity has become a religion that promotes globalism

24. We demand freedom of religion for all religious denominations within the state so long as they do not endanger its existence or oppose the moral senses of the Germanic race. The Party as such advocates the standpoint of a positive Christianity without binding itself confessionally to any one denomination. It combats the Jewish-materialistic spirit within and around us, and is convinced that a lasting recovery of our nation can only succeed from within the framework: common utility precedes individual utility

Jesus was the son of God. While many of his early followers were "Jewish" ethnically, Christianity rapidly spread throughout Rome, where it was shaped, then eventually adapted as the state religion. Roman influence is obvious up to the modern day.
Every notable achievement in European history has been done by Christians. There is no remarkable cultural, scientific, or architectural feat of pagans that can even begin to stand to what Christianity has achieved. The only reminder that it ever existed in the first place is the fact that some northern European cultures eat chocolate eggs on Easter and put a tree in their livingroom on Christmas.
Pagans know deep down that their "religion" is total horseshit, that the only records of its existence were recorded by Christians centuries after it died out. And yet many feel compelled, for whatever reason, to abandon the religion that made Europe great to LARP a long dead sorry excuse of a religion.

Then explain:
"Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord."
"The völkisch-minded man, in particular, has the sacred duty, each in his own denomination, of making people stop just talking superficially of God's will, and actually fulfill God's will, and not let God's word be desecrated. For God's will gave men their form, their essence and their abilities. Anyone who destroys His work is declaring war on the Lord's creation, the divine will."
My feeling as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter. It points me to the man who once in loneliness, surrounded only by a few followers, recognized these Jews for what they were and summoned men to fight against them and who, God's truth! was greatest not as a sufferer but as a fighter. In boundless love as a Christian and as a man I read through the passage which tells us how the Lord at last rose in His might and seized the scourge to drive out of the Temple the brood of vipers and adders. How terrific was his fight against the Jewish poison. Today, after two thousand years, with deepest emotion I recognize more profoundly than ever before the fact that it was for this that He had to shed his blood upon the Cross. As a Christian, I have no duty to allow myself to be cheated, but I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice."

>Odin is the father of all of the Gods. They have a different definition of "god" more akin to Roman/Greek pantheon Odin, despite the oft used title, isn't the allfather because he himself had a father and a grandfather Even the Norse "creation" story doesn't deal with the beginning of time.
Camden Kelly
Odin is called Allfather because he's the direct/symbolic father of the Aesir, the ruler of the gods, and the actual father and protector of humanity. Odin also took part in creating Earth and controlling the afterlife.
Odin is treated like a father and every god comes to him to ask permission or advice for a lot of things. He's the one to make the choices and he's usually the one to fix the problems.
Allfather is pretty accurate in his case.

I was born and raised catholic, but I never felt connected to it. About 10 or so years ago, I found odinism/asatru and converted. I feel a connection with the old gods. I find myself constantly doing what I feel is right, and making myself physically and mentally better, in hopes of catching Odin attention.

Recently quit smoking and dipping so I was filled with energy and decided to make some Runes. Found some nice ones to benefit me and my growing family, found some birch and sawed three medallions and cut runes into them, painted them. Today I walked a mile into the swedish forest to an old crooked birch in the middle of a glade. Found a low hanging branch and hung the three medallions with 6 runes up. It felt kinda nice to do something related to my original culture, albeit a tad bit forced. The glade really felt magical and tonight the fairies are dancing!

The pagan community in Norway is mostly confused new-age hippies. >What literature do you recommend to get a clear overview of what is known With regards to religion or litterature? Why do you use the word pagan?
>From a Christian viewpoint, pagans are generally characterized as those who are caught up in any religious ceremony, act, or practice that is not distinctly Christian. Correspondingly, Jews and Muslims also use the term pagans to describe those outside their religion. Others define the term paganism as any religion outside of Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, and Christianity; whereas some argue that a pagan is anyone with no religion at all
Anthony Long
Right, so that's the poetic Edda. There's also the prose Edda, which was originally intended to be a kind of textbook for Norse poetry; as a result, it needs to explain old poems, and, therefore, the old religion. It contains for example the myth of Fenrir's binding. This was written by Snorri Sturluson. I know very well that Jan de Vries was Dutch but almost all of his major works were written in German. I can't vouch for his translation but I do use his etymogical dictionary often. I use the terms "heiden" (cognate with "heathen") and "åsatru" ('belief in the æsir') in Norwegian. "Pagan" and "paganism" seem to work well enough in English.

Maybe try this instead. vsnrweb-publications.org.uk/EDDArestr.pdf (I obviously never read these things in English to begin with, so I don't really know what to recommend.) >Is there a possibility that Christianity has copied the story of Adam and Eve from Ragnarök? no, of course not. a pair of male and female humans (or proto-humans) are an archetype found throughout human cultures, and for good reason; they are the potential for motherhood and the fatherhood that allows our species to continue; they obviously HAVE to come in a pair of male and female to produce a child and to foster a family. in our surviving myths, the first humans were named Askr and Embla; they were given breath, soul, blood, speech and human appearance by Woden, Hœnir and Lóðurr. the cycle obviously repeats after Ragnarǫk (which is not "the end", but a "reset"). Yes, but from a historical perspective. Is it possible that Christianity came into contact with the old Golds via the Roman Empire
And that both the idea of an afterlife and Adam/Eve, man and woman appeared in the New Testament
>In the Book of Genesis of the Hebrew Bible, chapters one through five, there are two creation narratives with two distinct perspectives.
