Fairground becomes a makeshift hospital 'like you'd expect to see in Sudan'

dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4724754/US-fairground-makeshift-hospital.html

>President Trump has been urged to visit a country fairground in Virginia which has become a makeshift hospital to deal with the US health care crisis.

>As Republican officials continue to grumble over Obamacare, the reality on the ground is stark - people camping overnight to be first in line for free treatment at a pop-up outdoor medical center.

>Hundreds of desperate patients, some in their 90s, traveled miles to be seen to by doctors who used animal stalls, articulated lorries and barns to carry out examinations and treatment.

>Pictures show rows of people lying in beds being treated by doctors walking on dirty tarmac and it was described by one charity worker as a scene that might be expected in countries such as Sudan.

We Sudan now. These pictures of a free makeshift hospital in Wise, Virginia are pretty gruesome and third-world. We have hospitals operating in horse stalls and kids waiting overnight just for glasses and teeth cleaning.

America really needs a major change in its healthcare.

>America really needs a major change in its healthcare

Let's hope the idiot politicians stop their blockade of Trumpcare.

fake and gay

>people complaining about *actual* free health care.

Fuck people.

I've actually been to one of these free hospital fairs once. Its pretty much like that. Its hordes of poor people waiting in line for hours and hours just for free teeth cleaning.

You guys have never seen a Mission of Mercy before? People come out of the woodwork. Typical Sup Forums, rich kids with nothing to do but act mean on the internet.

>Since 1994, Mission of Mercy has been providing free healthcare, free dental care and free prescription medications to the uninsured, underinsured and those who "fall through the cracks" of our healthcare system.

>An independent nonprofit 501 (c)(3), faith-based community organization, Mission of Mercy receives no government funding. Because of this, we can provide healthcare without any pre-qualifications. None of our patients must prove their poverty or residency.

>Founded in 1991 and launched in 1994 by clinical pharmacist, Gianna Talone Sullivan, Pharm D., headquartered in Pennsylvania and serving clinics in Arizona, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Texas, Mission of mercy now has 17 clinics providing more than 25,000 free patient visits each year.

A great place where Patient Zero comes from.

Thank you for explaining poor-bro.

The last time I went to one of these health-fairs, I waited in line for 7 hours just for teeth cleaning. I'm not going to go to one of these again hopefully.

Charities are great and all- but they do create bottlenecks. That's the reason why there were long lines in Depression-era soup kitchens and long lines today at free health fairs. The food stamp program actually freed up people from these bottlenecks, so they can use their time for other things.

And most of the people in these pictures are white Virginians- I can't even spot any blacks in these photos.

Lolwut? Ahhh no.

Lol fucking obummercare at it's finest. Thanks obama. Hahaha

>Literal free (not free as in the liberal definition) healthcare being provided to anyone who comes
>Various treatments ranging from mammogram checks to some dude getting his entire upper jaw removed FOR FREE

What the fuck is there to complain about? No shit there will be long lines for free care. Pick any country, anywhere in the world and a similar scene would occur. Also,

>Obamacare has been the law of the land for years
>Virginia is a Democrat state

So what the fuck does Trump have to do with any of this?

On a related note, I'd recommend you guys take a look at all the pictures in OP's article. There are so many people who are clearly overweight and even some pictured smokers. If they cared that much about their health, maybe they should start taking better care of themselves and stop destroying their bodies.

Dental and Medical are 2 separate areas of 'healthcare'. You can hardly compare people that lack oral hygiene with cancer patients.

That isnt a hospital and those people aren't doctors. They're clearly dentists at a free dental clinic. They're not even doing anything major. When I had oral surgery a few months ago I had a IV hooked up and a EKG machine, I can't see either in those pictures

WTF?????explain yourself usa

>thousands lined up to get free healthcare
It's exactly what communi-, er, I mean, socialized healthcare looks like.

A good window to the future if you ask me.

My best friend had both his upper incisors pulled and a denture made at one. Of course he stepped on it and broke it while drunk a week later, but at least he wasn't in constant pain anymore.

Good luck arguing for socialized medicine and insurance here. You'd need to cite some Nazi shit about how they admired the Roosevelt administration.

It's almost like what actual 'free' healthcare looks like. Golly, consider my almonds activated.

>people camping overnight to be first in line for free treatment
>FREE

just imagine when it's ALL ""(((((free)))))""***
[terms and conditions apply goyim]

The Constitution enumerates no power to the federal government to stick its grubby paws in healthcare. Hold a constitutional convention if you don't like it and if you can get enough suckers.
You're a faggot and this is a slide thread and sageity-sage-sage.

There are a lot of poor people here. You don't see it because they stay segregated but they're out there. Don't worry, now that labor power is almost non-existent we can cut all social programs and most of them will just roll over and die.

I love how 'access' means 'free'.

'We no longer have access to healthcare'.

no, nigger. You don't have free healthcare. Welcome to white privilege... this is what it is. Fuck off.

it's called cutting costs. A big fancy building isn't necessary to perform medical procedures

Two weeks ago people waited 2 hours on line to get a free Slurpee saving like 1 dollar. Americans will wait on long lines for however long just to get free shit.

i actually have been to this same one.I live 15 minutes away

Because we don't really have blacks here

Instead of calling it free call it student driving. So if you dont like your gums bleeding a lot go get a decent job.

If you dont want it to take 5 tries to hit a vein lose weight and go get a job with insurance.

>free
Get what you pay for niggers. This is the free market at work.

> US health care crisis.
what healthcare crisis?

America's healthcare system is so far from being a free market. There is nothing free market about the US healthcare system. Its a strange mix of public and private.

If America's healthcare system was a free market- then you could go to any doctor and pay a reasonable amount of cash for treatment. If it was a free market, I could buy any type of drug I wanted without a prescription.

But this is exactly what "single player" "free" healthcare looks like. Why are they complaining?

They pull out rotten teeth mostly.

>maybe they should start taking better care of themselves and stop destroying their bodies.
It's their genetics fault.

Thats clearly dental care, not medical care. Dental insurance is fucking cheap in the US.

Hamericans think they're first world!

What disingenuous shit

mine is literally 8$ a month.

or you know, a toothbrush.

US becoming a third world country
Who would have guessed

These "make shift hospitals" (really a place where dentists volunteer their time) were around before Obamacare, during Obamacare, and will probably always be around. What a piece of shit article. Do people believe this crap???

My cousin did one of these. He's a dentist and worked on a few patients for an afternoon. This isn't a health crisis, its charity work.

Most free things attract hordes of people. Just take black Friday for example, and that's just discounts.

I remember my dad's dental when I was a teenager was something like $1 a week and that shit covered 50% of price for my braces along with full coverage for all the extractions I needed

>Charities are great and all- but they do create bottlenecks. That's the reason why there were long lines in Depression-era soup kitchens and long lines today at free health fairs.
As it should.

I always prefer to see inefficient, personable, and above all, voluntary charity work over socialized government welfare.

Time spent waiting can be worth considering your position as you literally watch someone work work work work work, just so they can work some more when it is your turn to receive a genuinely free (as in freely given) benefit. It isn't a waste, and it has real positive influence on people.

I will accept charity. I do not take government welfare. Keep your money.

>major change in our healthcare

welp looks like we are getting higher taxes after all so we can pay for everyones poor health choices

Those who insult the poors that go to these events need to reevaluate their values, and hope they never fall on hard times without a safety net. It's not even on the taxpayer's dime, for fucks sake. They are literally doing God's work, and it's probably very rewarding for the doctors and nurses to be able to help the needy.

How is this not an argument AGAINST government healthcare, though.

When you make something "free," people don't practice any discretion or restraint, and just use the service even if they may not necessarily need it.

This is exactly what you get with socialized healthcare. Long wait times and poor service.
